Very bloody weekend in Charlotte

Multiple shootings, 5 people dead including 7 year old boy who was playing in his backyard.  CMPD called in all officers from their days off, including special Gang Unit.  They believe illegal high power rifles were used in all shootings.  Be very careful in East and West Charlotte right now.

Updated:  Now 7 dead and 3 injured.  It's a national news now.

Apparently after 7 year old boy was shot and killed... few hours later when police was still investigating at the scene, a drive by shooting happened only a block away.  Crazy...

It really seems that there is a total lack of respect for human life across the board. It almost feels like as a society we are more appalled at the death of an animal more than a human.

We're violent by nature, and our culture as a whole doesn't help that fact. These things seem to historically ebb and flow though. Seems we're on an up spike the past couple of years. Question is, how much longer will it continue and how far will it go?

Police reported that there are witnesses and a lot of information but people are afraid to come forward.  It's pretty obvious who did this...  gangs.  They run a lot of West and East Charlotte neighborhoods.

It's easier and safer to protest against police being unlawful when their job is to protect and serve you. It's a little trickier trying to protest against lunatic street gang members
