What is the obsession with this guy?

I don't even want Hakeem Nicks, but I would sign him before I signed Moore. Not even the Raiders, or Bengals wanted Moore, and that's on a cheap contract.

He has had between 615-750 yards from 2011-2013 and can return punts. A much improved player over someone like Brown.

If they were big names the key word is WERE.  They chances that they are better than what we have is debatable at best.  IF they are better how long will it take them to learn our playbook.

How often does a player picked up off another team really pan out.

He's so improved, yet literally nobody wants him?

The Bengals just signed him in April for $825k, and they cut him August 31st.

Below is from rotoworld regarding his release. Not even his old coach from the Raiders (who also didn't want him) felt he was worth keeping around.

Bengals release WR Denarius Moore.

There was some hope Moore could revive his career under Bengals OC Hue Jackson, who coach him to his best season in 2011. He was unimpressive in OTAs and minicamp, however, and has done next to nothing this preseason.

Here's another quote from rotoworld from July regarding Moore when he was still with the Bengals.

According to Bengals.com, the team was "hoping to see more" from Denarius Moore this offseason.

Moore's roster odds have improved with James Wright (knee) headed to injured reserve, but he was apparently unimpressive in OTAs and minicamp. It's troubling news for a wideout who has never lacked for physical skills. If Moore can't revive his career under OC Hue Jackson, who coached him to his best season in 2011, it's probably never going to happen.

So this is the guy you are clamoring for? No thanks.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
