Seahawks are talking to teams about trading Kam Chancellor

Only named team so far are the Giants and the Seahawks don't appear ready to trade him just yet.

Would you be down with giving up something major to bring him here? That would certainly be one way to solve the receiver problem...if no offense can score a single point against us ever, I think we would win quite a few games.

CJ, Star, KK, Luke, TD, Shaq, Kam, Norman, Tillman................Jeebus.

What would it take to get him? Also we'd have to extend him and with Luke and Norman both needing extensions could we afford to pay him what he will want?

A lot. Like a lot a lot.

It almost certainly won't happen, but it's fun Huddle fodder. Seattle probably is looking for a 1st round pick at least.

You know the reason?  Because he wants $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

You can't pay everyone.  I like the formula we have .  DL with heavy rotation,  cheap secondary either old Veteran or young up and comer,  Kuechly, Davis/Thompson at the LB position.

I would like him yes.  Just don't think we can afford him.  Especially looking at the decisions coming down the line.

If all it took was a first round pick and maybe a 4th I'd make that trade given we can have an extension agreed to beforehand. Chancellor is a damn good player, and while part of it is the system he is in he'd be just as dominant in our system due to the pieces we have. Also it would finally give us the big time safety to truly complete our defense.

    • Small handful? There are dozens of QBs that started their rookie years and your examples are a bit of a stretch as proof: Brady - 6th rounders don’t usually even make a team yet he became the starter year 2. Mahomes - like Rodgers, he was drafted into a team with a playoff QB already entrenched and Bradshaw - Started 8 games his rookie year. Montana - like Brady, 3rd rounders QBs are absolutely not expected to start their rookie year and most times they don’t ever become starters. He became the starter year 2. Staubach - this is a silly example. He was a 10th rounders pick because he spent 5 years in the military after Navy. He didn’t play football for 5 years and he’s an example of a QB not starting as a rookie? Here’s a bunch of examples of successful QBs that were rookie starters since Cam and some old ones I remember: Elway, Marino, Aikman, the entire Manning family, Newton, Stroud, Lamar, Wentz, Goff, Mayfield, Allen, Stafford, Lawrence, Mac Jones (jk), Watson (before happy endings), Tannehill, Luck, Burrow, Herbert and Tua. There’s even less than successful QBs who were rookie starters like Murray, Trubisky, Jones, Winston, Mariota, Bortles, RG3 and maybe Bryce. Heck, Winston and RG3 went to the pro bowl his rookie year.
    • Agree, Houston's oline isn't/wasn't good. I just think Carolina's was a crap show. And Houston's scheme and weapons definitely helped mitigate their bad play. Guards and tackles both getting beat at the snap on the same play in Carolina. Bryce was definitely shell shocked, and rightfully so as a rookie. The FO had to fix that. It wasn't sustainable for any QB long term. CJ is getting a taste of it now due to injuries at the reciever position. But even with Diggs and Dell out, his weapons are still better than Carolina's. CJ will adjust. He's too good not to. But the FO should be a little more intentional with improving the oline. They have an embarrassment of riches at the receiver position. Guys they could sacrifice to improve the oline.
    • Say what you want, but my eyes tell me that Bryce is playing better than CJ and Caleb right now. Bryce is making decisive decisions, whereas CJ is missing reads and throws that he was easily making last season. This might be due to the pressure, but realistically, no one is going to care.
