Only 19 million in cap space next year? Is this reliable?

Overthecap.com has us at just 19 million in cap space next season, did Cam's contract really count that much?! That cant be accurate because that would mean we will only have 9 million once we lock up Luke, surely this cant be right, could someone clarify?! (Btw, my ipad isnt letting me paste, sorry I didnt post the direct link but its real easy to find if you go to overthecap.com)

I'm confused as hell, several months ago it said we would go into the season with like 70 mill in cap space, I even made a thread about it, wtf happened?

One I dont think 70 million is possible so Id assume you were dreaming and two, we signed Newton to a 100+ million contract. He has a 19.5 million cap hit next year. Previously he had no cap hit next season.

Stewart will probably be a June 1st, freeing space.

Harper is cut, saving 4.6 million because of that roster bonus.

CJ is probably extended, lowering his 15 million hit

Kalil could be extended if need be to lower his 10 million hit.

Add the carryover money left from this season...

Just a few moves, some will happen, some won't...and we could easily add 20 million or so in space to what we already have. Lock up Luke and Norman, grab a decent FA for a change, and then focus on the next wave of young guys to lock up.

I'm confused as hell, several months ago it said we would go into the season with like 70 mill in cap space, I even made a thread about it, wtf happened?

We told you in that thread that the $70 million was BEFORE Cam would get re-signed. We also didn't know at that time Olsen, TD Sr., and Ed Dickson would get extensions.

It was $70 million before we signed Ginn, Oher, Dwan Edwards, Kurt Coleman, and Teddy Williams to 2 year contracts

It was $70 million before we exercised the 5th year option of Luke's contract at a cost of roughly $11 million for next year

It was $70 million before we had to sign our draft picks this year

It was $70 million before we designated DeAngelo as a post June 1st cut and had part of his dead money put on the books for 2016

We told you the $70 million was before any signings, cuts, extensions, options, the draft, or re-signings, but you fixated on the number $70 million and ignored everything else. A big reason I don't read any thread you make anymore is you ask questions and don't listen to or remember our answers. That's troll behavior and a waste of my time.
