Well, I don't give a fug. I want to win, and I want to win NOW!

That is either sarcastic, or reality, or perhaps it's jut the sarcastic reality...just give me the best product that you can reasonably put out on the field, of course taking value and long term plans into account, but at least fool me into thinking that my team has a chance to win EVERY YEAR!

No excuses! No Apologies!

Prime years? lol Those are just starting. Most QBs do not win in their first few years, unless the team has been pretty much built before he was drafted. Shady, Rapethisbuger and Wilson's don't come around too often.

Yeah, but it'll be a shame if we never put a good team around him during his athletic prime. He'll get smarter as he ages, but his speed and elusiveness won't be here forever.

Hogwash.

I don't care about a video game/freakshow from my QB, I need him to be able to play QB, not emulate Mike Vick.

Cam, as well as almost every other QB enters their primes later, not earlier in the careers.  If you want to see how Cam's career will most likely play out, please refer to John Elway's.

bullpoo...you do care about the video Cam version.  He is the one that can shrug off a giant DT, break someone's ankle while still in the pocket and still make the pass.  He is the one that can bail out an entire offense when the OL can't generate 5 rush yards or get open.

no one said anything about playing like Vick.  Cam never had played his way or will.

Cam is a crutch used.  Means you are willing to allow your OTs to be Bell/Chandler last season...and that wasn't forced by injury.   Means you can constantly compete despite constantly putting poor talent around your QB which is all that has existed since DG has been here.

Cam isn't those QBs.  No point comparing them.  He is unique b/c of the mismatch he physically is....that window is early in his career.  Not late.  Later he will have to tone it all down.

How many years did it take Peyton, Favre, Elway to win a super bowl?

No, I don't care about that stuff.

As to the poor talent around Cam, this too is hogwash.  How many teams had 2 1000 yard options last season?

Video game/superman/speed/elusiveness/etc......how many QB's have won super bowls doing that poo?

As Cam ages he will get better, not worse.  If we/anyone who has a brain thought that, then we wouldn't have just made a gigantic mistake by signing him to an extension.

QB's get better with age, hell, look at Big Ben, he is just now coming into his own and is able to carry that team offensively....dude has been in the league since 2003.

Gettlemagic doesn't give a f#$ck - as far as he's concerned - he's setting the Panthers to be competitive for the next 10 yrs not trying to win and get to the playoffs this year (Patriots trying to cash everything they have with Brady)

No veteran Receivers... Cam - Sry bud .. You're what matters.

This season will be fun to watch... and if you sell all your stocks before they crash more every week.. even more fun.

So we have improved talent wise each season G-man has been here...our cap has improved...we have won the division 2 straight years...we improved again this offseason through what appears to be a solid draft and good free agent pickups...

Yet G-man is setting us up for failure because of an injury to our star WR that he couldn't have predicted?  Give the man a freakin break, he is clearly trying to win now.  It is not worth overreacting to an injury by trading away the future for a stop gap WR who could easily get injured himself.

5 years into their career what type investments did their teams make for them?

Cam is limited currently in how much he can actually grow currently....so we are delaying his ability to grow.  Those guys spent years growing as elite players and they had elite talent enabling them to grow.

People really put Gettleman on a pedestal here.  While it's too early to tell if he'll work out for sure, he's made a good bit of mistakes and still looks green at his job.  He's been great on evaluating draft talent, but terrible at filling holes outside of the draft which is needed to balance out "building via draft".

1) Last year's "the answer is in the roster" and starting Bell/Chandler, which was a massive failure.  Oher was a huge gamble as well and we'll see if that continues to work out (hopefully though)

2) Last year's secondary situation with going into the season with Decoud and Harper out there.  Also going into the season with Cason as a starting CB.

3) This year's failure to prepare the WR class.  Drafting a guy that was probably going to be there in the 2nd/3rd in the first when we needed a tackle or a WR with speed (tackle not there, but plenty of better options at WR than Funchess who we already have like 3-4 receivers that match that mold).  There was multiple options to upgrade our WR core and I'm not talking about break the banks like Torrey Smith (although at this point overpaying would have been worth it) but we didn't do it.

4) Keeping one of the worst offensive coordinator's on the team in Mike Shula.  I know some of this is Rivera's call but as a GM you need to look out for your team and it's obvious Shula is just not creative at all calling games.   Same with Rivera keeping vets in that need benched, etc.  Instead of watching what is obvious, you have to act.

I think it all stems from being a mediocre team, sports city, and having a owner that keeps hiring lame duck coaches.   People on this board think we are a powerhouse after winning a division with 7-8-1 record and question power rankings that have us low.   Until we expect better from our GM/coach/owner we're going to keep having success every few years instead of every year.

Like I said, it's still early and I haven't given up hope on DG, but he's not the best ever and he DOES deserve criticism.   There are too many parties here on one side of the fence or the other when the truth is it's more in the middle.

you don't care about Cam's ability to buy time and do amazing things in the pocket or ability to create offense when both a traditional run and pass would be shutdown?

that doesn't make tons of sense but whatever floats your boat

false.

The talent around Cam on offense hasn't improved each year.

Can't even claim we are trying to win now....look at what we did to Cam last year.  Talent got so bad league wide rejects like Oher and Ginn become HUGE upgrades this year and considered good.
