and did you see Brady get shut out by Carolina ... Could have sworn Cam was on the Other side.

Its a different world out there bro.

When his awesomeness is spending his Preseason in Court rooms ... Its Bleak out there.

If I wasn't a Panther fan, Bro.

I'd make you a bet which organization or QB books more wins this season.

Not saying i disagree with what he's doing, because for now he's done nothing but earn my trust.

But when do you stop building for the future and try to win now? At some point we're gonna have to go all in.

Building for the future does not mean 5 drafted players a year to fill your roster while packing the other 70% of your team with veterans no one wants and udfas. This is the formula for a talent starved team that the few talented players you have must carry the team on their shoulders to win the division and hopefully the Super Bowl.

You will be underwater in 4 seasons from a personnel perspective, and 1 or 2 key injuries will not allow you to cross the finish line of the marathon that is the NFL season/playoffs.

As opposed to picking 1 good player a year. Trading away number one draft picks like they are useless. Throwing money away on so called superstar signings. Then giving huge contracts away to a lot of players so they don't leave. All in the process bankrupting your future.

Thats what Hurney did to us and I'm sorry but I much prefer Gettlemens methods. Build through the draft, pay players in key positions, sign players that are affordable but can fill a need temporarily, don't be afraid to loose a few guys that want too much. Thats how you both win now and build for the future so your constant contenders.

You'd be singing a different toon had we not got unlucky with injuries. That poo happens and just because it did doesn't mean Gettlemens process doesn't work. Hell even with our issues this team is still on track for success and we could very well win alot of games this year.

With the way Gettleman has been building this roster, it seems like next year would be the year to go all in.  After one more solid draft, we should be in a place to make a super bowl push.  I like what he has done and this roster is greatly improved from when he took over the reins

Short tenures for coaches and GMs today mean also that you get one throwaway season during your career... and it is only allowed for the first season. Perform over the long haul or die.

We're not a throwaway team this year, we aren't having a "build for the future year", we have a team built to work the best it can this year. We have suffered one major injury this year, and it happened to be in an area of weakness. How devastating will it be? No one really knows. We haven't even seen Funchess on the playing field yet. He might be better than KB or he might be terrible. We don't know.

Don't go signing off on this year yet. We have no idea how things will play out and that's part of the fun, isn't it? Yes, the Patriots work like a well-oiled winning machine, and I hate them ever the more because of it. We're the Panthers, we rarely win pretty, but we can out tough just about any team there is.

Can't wait for real football.

i'm not sure if this is in support or condemnation of Gettleman's strategy, but someone saying that this team has less talent and/or is in worse shape than before he got here in 2012 would be incorrect. I can't remember the last time a Panthers team had this much depth across the board.

What he basically is saying that drafting five players year after year is not conducive to winning championships. We need more skin in the game regarding the draft so that our probability of filling out the roster with quality players increases exponentially,  as opposed to having to rely more on UDFAs and suspect FAs. Five picks year after year is not really a blueprint for building a champion.
