Starters at WR not set in stone yet per Reed

The fact that I can call Ginn our best and most reliable WR says a whole lot. These are NFL godamn receivers, all we are asking for is to CATCH THE DAMN BALL. We are even being nice and excluding YAC and good route running, just catch wide open perfectly thrown balls to you or GTFO. I swear to God if Brown drops ONE ball this Thursday, I'm officially done with him. I better see nothing but hand catches. Hopefully Boykin, Norwood, and Brown get as much reps as possible.  We already know what we have with Ginn, sit him out.

BTW,  The word "maybe" does actually mean something.

Maybe it was Rivera's idea for those who actually care at this point.  I don't.

I just want the best people in the best spots,  so a competition to the end is fitting in light of what has transpired.

A fairly sad situation if the last Preseason game meant to feature the end of your bench to fill a few final roster spots sets our WR core depth chart. Maybe the Steelers will play some competent DBs all game so we have some good tape?

I don't know whether to call it ironic,  surreal,  poetic justice or what,  but I guess "sad" is as fitting a word as any.

Why is this such a big deal? Our WR group sucks and is young so getting them all the reps they need is for the best. It was reported that if Funchess is healthy enough to play he'll play on Thursday as well. And he's locked in as a starter. I hope to see Norwood get some meaningful snaps in that game.

I love how any good idea has to be due to Gettleman talking some sense into Rivera and any bad one Is Rivera's alone. Huddle fan speak.

this coming from the person who defends Mike Shula to no end.

im neither a Rivera supporter nor a Rivera trasher. the man has his weaknesses, but he also has his strengths. and that doesnt mean that Gettleman cant be credited with lighting a fire undre RR's ass. he had to at the end of last season with our special teams coach.

the fact of the matter is that Rivera and Gettleman share the credit and blame for every decision made by the organization to this point. in terms of building a solid roster, they have done a great job. we still have weaknesses and talent-depleted position groups, but given what they had to work with, the Panthers' front office has earned my respect and deference.

you cant think that Gettleman is great and Rivera sucks. their decisions are pretty much made as a singular voice when it comes to personnel issues.

I should hope not. No clear choices stand out except Ginn who will make the team just for ST. Looking forward to the 4th preseason game like never before. :)

Ginn will also make it because he happens to be one of the most consistent WR's so far this preseason.
