We only have one issue.. Remove Brown from the roster and we are legitimate contenders.

I will be honest, I actually feel a lot better about the offense after lastnight. Its very very rare that literally a single person can make an entire offensive unit look bad. If you take out Corey Brown from that offense lastnight, this offense looked pretty damn amazing. Cam was hitting Olsen consistently, Cam was hitting guys like Cotchery and Ginn on point in the underneath routes to move the chains, our run game came somewhat alive with that nice run by Stewie as well as CAP and Fozzy getting decent carries.

Even with the atrocious play by Corey Brown, Cam completed 60% of his passes, 146 yds and 1 TD in just a half and a series in the 3rd qtr.  Shula even showed with the Tolbert dump pass that he might even know how to get redzone TDs without KB.

I think the mind numbing drops combined with the boos from the crowd really made the offense look terrible. I GUARANTEE if say Boykin or Funchess would have been out there in place of Brown, Cam's stat line would have been something like 64% completion, over 200 yds and 2 TDs. No way on earth Funchess or Boykin would have had those drops. Just no way.

So why should we be thankful Brown looked so bad?! Because, we now know that A. We can run the ball, for the most part. B. Cam is accurate and has improved. C. Olsen still an all pro. D. Cotch and Ginn are reliable targets E. Shula might just know what to do in the redzone now and F. Our O line is the best it has been in years.

We should be thankful because we literally only have one issue with this offense, and its Corey Brown, and you can easily fix that issue by cutting him and replacing with Boykin/Funchess. Before, it use to be we had many glaring issues.. Now we literally have one, Corey Brown, and he will be replaced.

That's quite the turnaround from the 'our offense will be on par with 2010 or worse' declarations that you made yesterday.

Say what you will---and I don't give a poo about all the apologist bullshit that is going to be regurgitated and recycled after I say this---but the fact that we're putting so much effort into discussing Philly phucking Brown is an indictment on Ron Rivera and Dave Gettleman.  The Huddle has been placed in the unfortunate position of discussing a bench warmer at best on any other team in the NFL.

I have always spoken up for Rivera, and have been more positive about Gman than not,  but they both suck ass in their own way in their own way regarding the evaluation of Philly Brown and the rest of the receiving corps.  "Competition" as it pertains to WR is just useless rhetoric and grandstanding.

Perhaps it's because I drove to Asheville and back for what amounted to 10 hrs there and back, with a three hour funeral in between,  but I am literally tired and tired of discussing a receiver who put up the worst performance that I've ever seen.

Phuck Brown and the Philly he rode into town on.

Oh,  yeah... Goodnight! I'm going to bed.

i  had this kid battling Stephen Hill for that 6th WR spot on my ONE and only WR depth chart prior to OTAs

1 KB

2.Funchess

3 Ginn

4 Boykin...who would start as our #2,flanker ,z receiver,or whatever in the hell you want to call it,while Funchess develops

5 Cotchery

i don't see as much has changed except that instead of Brown battling Hill for that 6th WR spot he is asked to replace KB.the way Corey Brown is playing i don't think he would even be an upgrade over Hill..,just saying

Mark these words---

It is easy to kick a man when he is down.  Try supporting Brown. This (to me) is mental, so it is personal to him.  He is a Panther and I will be damned if I am going to forget all he has done for this franchise as an undrafted free agent.  He is a good man and will get over this--with support.

I am guilty of it too, but lets support anyone wearing Black and Blue instead of ripping them to pieces because they dropped some passes that don't count for sh8t.

Send him support and you can save a good person and player.  How ironic is it for us to trash a person who took his game farther than any of us ever did.

Set your GPS for the High Road-

very well said.

    • Soooo many bad turnovers again. Luckily Martin played well.
    • Yes. Cade 100% tripped and pitched it to Mafah.  That’s not in dispute.  We agree on that.  Mafah got the ball, fell to the ground and then attempted to complete the rest of the play….which was the lateral to the WR on the end around.  You are calling the lateral from Mafah to the end around WR the ball popping up.   It was whistled dead.   Then they ran another play.  the review then awarded the ball to SC after we ran another play for what happened after a play was whistled dead.   How does that part work lol?  How do you recover a ball if a play was whistled dead for a downed player prior to a recovery?  I think the refs screwed Clemson twice.   That’s not why they lost.  Please don’t think that is my argument.   They lost because Cade chocked and panicked at the end.  They lost because Sellers should have been put on the ground for a loss countless times and they didn’t.  They lost because our over loyal Dabo wouldn’t bench his favorite hurt RB.    Clemson lost for lots of reasons. SC deserved to win.  Those calls were bad though IMO.  They exist in every game.
    • I can’t recall an NBA team with this many injuries.  It’s getting absurd at this point
