Interestingly enough, he and all the other whiners refuse to answer my question as to the source of the truly odd quote in the OP.

They just won't do it for some reason.

Why does it matter who said it?  It is accepted as part of the huddle vernacular for a reason.  Either it has been said by people who vehemently defend everything Gettleman does, or it was said by someone on our team's staff at some point.

IIRC, Gettleman or Rivera said it themselves in a presser and it carried over onto the huddle...  And if it didn't, then as I said, someone here who blindly supports everything our front office does (good and bad) said it in their defense while talking out of their ass.  Here's an idea...  Google it, and you tell me.

This is true.

But then you don't make the logical follow-up result in many of those cases... that all the resources they've put into WRs have been utterly wasted on average to bad players, so by doing so they've flushed both money and draft picks down the toilet.

I'd rather our GM do his business like an NFL professional than like a gamer playing Madden on-line.

What i was trying to emphasize was the immediate effort to try and put talent around there Qbs as soon as they were acquired. All those other teams stables poo over ours talent wise as a whole, Cam would make them look good. Nobody would honestly look at those teams and say i would rather have Panthers WR group over ours, KB is one player. Madden was just simply an observation I made from looking at the rosters which was something i could have done without playing the game, Nothing to do with the actual game or ratings  but of course Huddle ignorance saw that word and ran wit it. Pros at letting things fly over their head to try an call someone stupid.

What were those other team's salary cap situations as they were surrounding their QBs with talent?

Or, if you're not talking about FA's, would you rather not have Star or KK?  Would WR(s) have been a better choice there?

How good would our defense be without Star and KK?

No, but aapparently you do enjoy the idea of throwing money at mediocre receivers.

Most of those guys have low cap hits because they're not worth much.

Short contracts, reasonable on guys with better upside and greater past production than anyone on our roster outside of KB and Funchess is "throwing money" away?

And if all of those guys on that list are mediocre, you should go ahead and get padded up and try out because what we have must be completely off the radar in terms of horrible adjectives to designate them with.

I just disproved your idea that they were unaffordable.  So often, your go to is to default to what management says or does because they are apparently infallible and I and all others should keep our dissenting opinions to ourselves because we aren't in the football business...  And yet, I'm to take your opinion on what comprises a good WR as gospel?  LOL.  See how this works?

Well, it matters because NOBODY said it.

And the person you apply it to did NOT say it.

So, yeah, making up a quote and attributing it to someone in order to support your view?  Kinda cheesy.

convenient you left out the rest of that post where I addressed the other possible source of the quote.  I didn't make it up, and you know that.  Nor did I attribute it to anyone.

Making up arguments as you go and putting words in someone's mouth to support your view?  Kinda cheesy.

diddy just off the top of my head both maclin and torrey smith got $20+ million guaranteed.  smith's cap number jumps up over $7 million next season and then over $9.5 million after.  maclin's jumps up over $12.4 million.  the point you're making is disingenuous and intellectually dishonest.  are we just going to pull a hurney and convert their salaries to signing bonus and hose prorated money all over the back ends of their contracts like what got steve smith released?

as for some of the others, brandon tate is a freaking punt returner with less than a thousand career receiving yards.  we tried to sign jennings but he just jerked us and a few other teams around on twitter before signing with miami.  he's also injured right now.

nicks, DHB, miles austin, and stevie johnson are all coasting on name recognition right now.

good wide receivers that are known producers are still expensive in the year 2015 in the NFL.  if you want to watch a team that rotates a bunch of crap around the bottom of their receiver depth chart and trades first round picks for poo skill position players and gets blown by the media for it until they quietly release them months later then try the colts.

The quote you love to drag out every time you argue your point?  The quote in your OP?

Its made up.

Imaginary.

Maybe YOU should be more careful in what you say?

What's really funny with regard to hyperbole is your view that Gettleman is trying to "force" Cam to work with lesser weapons instead of the opposing view that he's damn well doing the best he can in managing the team, adding talent, and managing the salary cap.

But, no, you're right... Gettleman hates Cam.  And he loves losing football games.  That's why he's "forcing" Cam to use weapons that suck.

You nailed it brah.

Never said any of that.  I've repeatedly used the word "neglect," when referring to our lack of attention to Cam's weapons.  WHOOOOOOOA!!!  EXPONENTIAL HYPERBOLE OVERLOADDDDDD!!!  I couldn't have picked a more inflammatory and derogatory term!
