All this could have easily been avoided if the video had a transcript in english or captions in english.. or if you saw the video on the page it would have an header saying "for all the spanish speaking fans this is for you"..

the term "language barrier" exists for a reason. someone who doesn't speak english isn't going to subscribe to an english based social networking page. and for that ridiculous soccer methology you used a few pages back... pretty much every european soccer pages also have english based fan pages as well. bayern munich, a goddamn team with 30 million more followers than the panthers only posts in german and they are surrounded by people who speak swiss, swedish, and french. i guess bayern munich needs a long teaching from the local community college's gender studies prof.

i think you underestimate the english-speaking abilities of migrant populations, and of transnational culture in general. hell, i follow facebook groups that post in thai, lao, and german on facebook, despite having limited grasps of those languages, and i'm able to pick stuff up just from that. i imagine hispanics do the same with english networks.

but language, thought, and cultural are all inextricably intertwined, and the politicalization of the language people speak means that invariably peoples' ugly thoughts (which often reflect a hateful culture) will come out, so it's unsurprising to see peoples' spittle-flecked rage all over the huddle, even at the expense of fellow panthers fans

it's self-explanatory. why should they put up captions that say "please bigots don't get mad at us this is for people whose english isn't as good as yours please don't hurt us"

I'm sure this has been said, but the US has NO OFFICIAL LANGUAGE.

Additionally, Spanish has been spoken in the America's since the 1500's.

If we really want to go deep with it, what about all the Native American languages that were here before that?

Um, for exactly the reason I said? It could simply be a test where they are seeking to see if they will get a decent amount of views and possibly expand to have more spanish speaking content targeting, there Spanish speaking fanbase. Not that had actually.

And it's not like the video showed ground breaking/exclusive content you could not find in english, so it's not like English viewers missed out or something important. 

Check out AC Milan's main twitter page. They tweet in Italian, English and even islamic and chinese depending on who(audience) they are targeting. No one gets upset about it.

it's also worth noting that there are some words/expessions/phrases that just don't translate well across languages, so hearing it in your native tongue will always be more meaningful regardless of how fluent you are in any other language.
