as a student of Spanish, and languages in general, i find their comments extremely offensive. i think the NFL should move to do more foreign language broadcasting and i commend the Panthers for reaching out to the extensive spanish-speaking community of the Carolinas. 

to remove someone's language is literally a human rights violation. its a crime against humanity. i do think immigration should be done legally, and that assimilation over two or three generations should be encouraged. I also think that first generation immigrants should learn English. But those beliefs dont require the kind of ignorant hate seen in the OP. All peaceful cultures should be appreciated and celebrated, and language is inseparable from culture.

For anyone having a hard time understanding the issue with this:

Imagine liking, Idk, some soccer team from Spain. You love this team and its very hard as an american to follow and understand them as much as the spanish speaking people in Spain do. The soccer teams official facebook page posts a video from their training camp/game with an american, english speaking reporter. This insight delights you and makes you feel closer to the team in many ways. Then you look at the comment section and see dozens of Spaniards saying "this is Spain, not the U.S.", or "learn to speak our language fool". How would this make you feel?

Though of course, you would never root for a foreign sports team because you're the kind of American that won't even order products "if ther made by sum dam china man"...

I agree with this however it would also be in poor taste for a few million Americans to sneak into Spain and then demand Spain cater to the fact they didn't speak the native language and then call anyone who had a problem with their ignorance of the native language a racist.  Wonder why people who would.be horrified at a bunch of Ugly Americans doing that in another country are OK with people doing just that in this country.

The ignorant minority will always get attention over the less ignorant majority, but people making generalizing comments about this being an American thing obviously haven't spent significant time in other countries. Racism is alive and well all over the world. If anything, the U.S. is comparatively progressive in this arena.

This has nothing to do with Immigration and for people to use that as a justification for those comments, you might need to look inside of yourself at your own hate. 

This is about our professional sports team who reaches out to another community in their language. What is the harm in garnering more interest and fans from people from different places? 

Once again this is not an Immigration issue, these comments are out of place and to those who say things like this or justify it, you are all in the same category in my eyes and should be ashamed of yourself. The world needs more love not hate and bravo to the Panthers for reaching out to the Hispanic community.

well it all depends.  are the ugly americans in this scenario a source of disposable, cheap, untraceable labor that the conservative party talks about kicking out of said country out of one side of their mouth while being in the pockets of big businesses whose business models are reliant upon them at the same time?
