Recent OTs drafted in the top rounds

granted. I'm just saying we can't claim Gettlemagic on this especially if he continues going south.

H*ll yes we can.  Even the decision to stand pat and not panic in the first is #GM, when compared to the genius that was trading up for Williams in the 4th.  Not to mention Steve Keim was ranked ahead of GMan in the offseason rotoworld rankings.  Fools. If that's not #GM I don't know what is.

If Oher works out for us, he could easily hold down the spot for the next 3-5 years.  It'd be awesome if that happened, but like davos said, I don't want to rush to that conclusion.

I'll also say that if it looks like Williams is going to beat out Remmers for RT, it'd be nice to get Remmers some work over at LT during the preseason.  Our top backup OT probably needs to be a swing tackle because none of us want any part of Foucault or Chandler getting any snaps at OT in a game that actually counts.

According to blackandbluereview Remmers has played LT in both games so far....as well as a few snaps at center.

I am just glad we have Dave and didn't pick for instance Morgan Moses.

That scout / draftnick saying that he is a plug and play tackle from day 1 just does not hold true.

Dave said we would have picked Humphries so I don't know if this exactly makes him look good.

Doesn't necessarily make him look bad either. Tackles don't generally come out of the gate like beasts. It seems like they take a longer time to develop into solid starters than other positions. Of course due to the nature of the position, they also seem to have a higher probability to bust which makes drafting one in the first or second round a higher risk. The average fan just doesn't seem to understand this.

My 4 steps for 1st round picks listed by priority: 1) Never trade them away. 2) Never draft OL, DT, K, or P. 3) Target freakish offensive skill players that fill a need. 4) Draft BPA defensive player.

Winning formula.

If your right about #1, the Seahawks are going to be in for a world of hurt in the not too distant future.
