Madden 16

I'm 25-14 online. My complaints of the online play are the 10-15 sec of "looking around the stadium" until the next play. I've remedied that by using the chew the clock feature to keep each game time more manageable.

 

still pretty pissed about the ratings, but I have no choice but to play with them. Only play with Carolina. 

I'm 3-0. First game, had the guy rage quit on me because Luke kept picking off the same curl route (3 in 3 possessions lol).

My two games tonight were both really tight games. Came down to last possession. The first of the two, I thought I was about to get into OT. Guy had the ball on my 7 with less than 30 seconds left and one timeout. He neglects to use the timeout after a big play, rushes to the line....snap goes over Big Ben's head. I recover, ball game. The second, the guy had the Packers and threw 5 picks (4 to Luke...when will they learn to not throw at Luke?). Still, I only won 27-21 because I can't seem to sustain drives. My TDs are often big plays. Though, running for at least 50 yards each game has helped me out. And playing good defense.

Just found my first douchebag on head to head. Dude played with the Seahawks and ran 4 plays out of the same shotgun formation. Defensively, he was running one of three defenses and pre-snap adjusting in such a way that allowed a free rusher every time. So frustrating, especially considering my first three opponents were at least trying to play me straight up and, you know, play football.

Seems like they have adjusted the ranking points for guys like that though. I've been getting a lot of points on my wins. I only lost like, 50 on that and he only gained 90. So I guess they anticipated people finding broken plays/money plays and running them all game and adjusted the points system accordingly.

The deep ball is absurd. Why am I playing cover 3 man if the db is just going to allow the receiver to run right by him and let the safety cover the wr one on one? I abuse this too but it's annoying when there is virtually nothing you can do to stop it outside of audibiling individual players to man cover a wr which destroys your defensive scheme. 

 

Quick passes. I have found running a 4/5 receiver set and hot routing receivers to slants is a easy 7-15 yards virtually every play. 

 

Look for the PA SCISSORS play. It's a glitch and the TE will be open almost every play. They didn't fix this from last year. This play is in most playbooks. 

 

A lot more to be said but I'm on my phone.

I'm not noticing the deep ball issue. Make sure your corner is in a deep third coverage. Some cover 3 schemes have the corner in the flat. Cover 3 buzz is usually my go to cover three (occasionally cloud, but not often). It's been pretty realistic as far as deep ball goes for me. About 50/50.

I redact my opinion on the deep ball. Guy played with the cowboys and just chucked deep balls to Dez all game. Since Dez has a crazy high rating, he was bringing down everything (4 catches for 171). Terrance Williams had 3 for 143 and 2 TDs. Lost 49-28. I didn't lose that badly, he was stat padding the 4th quarter. Realistically, I lost 35-28, because he tossed two TDs late. He got me off my game early and I was rage playing. Got away from my typical play calling because I was furious. Only my 2nd loss though.

Well, started a season last night and two key people got hurt in my first two games.  I don't want to jinx anything, but Dereck Anderson's accuracy sucks in this game.  I think they underrated him tremendously.  Also, thank god I kept Brockel, right?

Ive had a tough time against seahawks, texans and steelers so far. I don't know how the hell i'm off to a good start. Tyrod Taylor is awful but I won't change it up, too much fun having 6 players running the ball and my defense is always nasty. Its awesome going into a game not knowing who you play....only to find out its a monster team like the Broncos, and then kicking their ass.

deep zones and user adjustments will stop the deep bomb..also zone blitzes with and variety of a 7-8 man box will stop most of that, Its up to yall to figure it out though.

Against the Cowboys, I ran cover 3, cover 4, and 2 man under the entire game. Mostly 4 man fronts, and Addison was getting decent pressure. I always adjusted to anticipate pass, and had the secondary adjust to over the top.

Couldn't stop the deep ball. Ridiculous catch after ridiculous catch. Double coverage, don't matter. Bene running stride for stride all game, but suddenly gets blown by. Same with Norman.

I wish more people did like me and actually called plays like a normal person, instead of just running a guy  deep and chucking it all game. Sick of seeing opposing QBs stats be 4-10 for 205 yards and 3 TDs.


Usually, the adjustments and whatnot work. But depending on the team you're playing and the money plays they call, it may not matter.


Also, I have NO money plays. I don't just run 4-5 plays like a lot that play. I actually try to make it a point to use every formation and variation at least once. Keep it mixed up. Run a balanced attack.

OK, so which of you played Madden tonight (around 1 am-ish) as the Panthers against an opponent that was also the Panthers? Because that was me, and you're either terrible at the game or the biggest troll online. lol. Either way, good times.


I'll explain.

His first play was 5 WR Panther Go's. Philly Brown 80 yard bomb. He ran that play almost exclusively until I started running cover 4. Then after the score was like, 28-21 (me up), he started running FG block on defense. And then spinning the entire kick return. Then I ran fg block to give back the two TDs he gave me doing that that put me up 49-21, he finally hits a wide open KB....only to do Cam's little airplane thing to the goal line, then turn around and run back to midfield.

Never laughed so hard during a game of Madden.

10-8 with the Bills online yet i'm still in the top 22% of all madden gamers. Something tells me they have really figured out a great way to match up opponents. I've crushed Broncos and Packers yet have battled it out with Rams and Eagles. I can easily tell that players with less talent max out their potential and EA has found a respectable measure to even things out.

My last game against the Rams. I lost 2 fumbles early. This guy had a killer run game with Gurley and Mason. I only lost 16-6.

My last 4 games against Packers and Broncos players I've outscored them easily.

This game is fuging trash.  First time I will have ever returned a Madden game, but this one's going back.

This game is pure gold. I'm sorry but its not even remotely the same madden of years past. FINALLY Ratings actually matter! If you have a iffy ass QB then guess what.. Don't expect to be making every throw like a shark with a laser beam attached to its head. Defense is great. The tackling is great. The coverage is great.

 

Im really impressed.. Yeah it definitely took a lot of growing pains in the beginning because it really really does play like a completely different game compared to the past maddens. Running is fun as hell. Passing is great. You HAVE to set your feet and if you don't good luck. Also if there is pressure on your QB it's going to be rough.

 

Draft Champions is fun as hell I just lost a 13-0 win streak because they wanted me to have 6 fugging CB's but eh.. The streak had to die at some point.

 

Next year I hope they revamp the battle in the trenches and if that is done.. We could be looking at the best madden every created.. Even better then possibly this one because at this point I really feel like this is probably the best to date.

 

Most of these people you see get pissed off is because their QB's aren't absolutely perfect and they are getting frustrated. Trust me I know I'm in a CFM and im having to play with fuggin  Drew mother fuggin Stanton. FUUUUG. However even though its very frustrating and I pretty much pray to the football gods that Drew doesn't go full retard on me. Its absolutely fun as hell.

 

PS. I'm undefeated with Carolina in ranked matched.. Arizona. however... yeah not so fuggin much. Cam is 10 times a better passer then Carson "slowest release known to man" Palmer and Drew "sometimes I like to pick my nose while throwing the football straight to the defender" Stanton. It really is like a breath of fresh air. And that Carolina D.. Holy pooh. ... Hooooly pooh.
