  • Really thought Ricky Manning, Jr. and Chris Gamble were going to be the best CB combo in the league for years
  • Thought Jeff Otah was going to be a dominant RT for years
  • Believed David Carr was going to resurrect his career here in case Jake got hurt/ underperformed
  • Thought TE Micheal Gaines was to going to become a star
  • Thought Thomas Davis was absolutely done after the 3rd ACL tear
  • Most wrong- thought Ron Rivera was going to be fired after the 1-3 start in 2013

I wish I could go back and find the threads when I ripped Gabbert and Clausen. I pretty much tore them apart and got neg rep for it. My Gabbert posts were actually pretty funny and went on for months.

I said that Cam was going to be one of those QBs who takes like 4 seasons to really become good in the pocket. I wanted Cam or AJ Green at the time. Fans HATED the idea of drafting Cam until the draft got close, and then most of them came around because it looked like we were going to take him.

I predicted the Jonathan Stewart pick. Pretty much the only 1st round picks I ever got right were Peppers, Cam, and Stew. The Stew pick is the one I'm proud of because very few people got that one. The other two were kind of obvious.

I didn't want us to draft Luke, and I really wanted Couples. I was convinced we were going to take Couples, and had we not taken Luke I feel confident it would have been Couples. I wanted Beason to stay at MLB, but I didn't know was ruined by his injuries at the time. The worst mistake I ever made was thinking Luke would be just an average MLB. I was way off on that. He's amazing.

I thought Otah would make the HOF. Yikes.

I thought Armanti would translate to a gadget type of player who made big plays for us even if he wasn't a main piece of our offense. I thought he would be a game changer. Anybody who watched him for four years at app new one thing. He played fearless and he made poo happen. When he got opportunities here he played scared and stiff.

I wanted Cam, I was cool with the kuechly pick. And I remember arguing with kkl for months about Patterson and hunter. I said Patterson would end up having the better career. They both kind of suck. And we got star so it didn't matter.

oh and I thought jake locker was gonna be a beast of a qb in the NFL.

I have to go back 20 years to start my list.

Kerry Collins

Fred Lane

Cris Carter {I kept thinking, he only needs to get stronger to win those fights with the CB's.}

I honestly thought Ponder would turn out to be the best QB of that class. Silly me.

I've learned to just enjoy the show during the draft & accept whoever we draft.  And every preseason I do pull for our 2nd & 3rd string guys to make it somewhere if not with us just because they work so hard to get that opportunity.

I thought Otah was going to be the best offensive linemen in Panther history.

Armanti was going to be a wildcat, situational quarterback, wide receiver hybrid.

Colbert was going to be a steady #2 for years.

Eric Shelton. fug.

Loved the Clausen pick.

Hated the Luke pick.

Damn this thread is full of fail. Feels good to cleanse the soul though.
