Corey "Philly" Brown's 'Endzone Drop'

My apologies...  I did not go off of other people's word, I myself assumed that he had three drops because i remember three drive killing plays on which he was the reciever, so after the game I remembered them all as being drops.  He had two drops (TD included) and the first bad play was him catching a ball inbounds and then landing with both feet almost halfway across the boundary lol.  It showed absolutely no field awareness and looked like a sloppy route as well.  So, there...  it wasn't three drops, it was two drops and a horrible catch LOL.

ALSO, while rewatching the game,I looked back at the drop in the end zone and it appears clearly that the ball was not tipped.  It changed trajectory when it hit him in the chest, whereas if he was going after the ball with his hands like a natural reciever should, it never would have had the opportunity to do so.

I remember watching the replay during the game and it didn't looked tipped either. Maybe his field of vision was blocked but still that was a catch-able ball.

Sorry, I'm as big a Philly supporter as there is too... but he could have caught that TD and should have caught that TD.

There you see it literally go right between his hands, hit him dead center in the chest, and even BOBBLES between his arms for a prime body catch, which he seems to like so much.

That was a flat out drop.

To be honest the pics in the OP are a bit blurry and it's hard to tell anything definitive.  When I saw it on TV, it didn't look like it was tipped.  Irregardless he is a wide receiver, he gets paid big money to catch a ball...so when that ball is in the vicinity of his hands, he should catch it.

Honestly his attempt to bring it in for a body catch looks like what led to the drop upon closer inspection.

Here is a perfectly placed ball going right through his hands.  Notice the right arm up high here:

Here is the ball further along in its trajectory.  Philly actually gets his right hand/arm on it momentarily as he brings it in... the ball was still a perfect spiral up until this point.  This ball also has a ton of heat on it, in order to split 3 defenders - not optimal for body catching... and no, it wasn't tipped by the defender - he almost got it... it was extremely close.  I've traced the right arm to show how Philly brought his right arm down with the ball in an attempt to cradle it into his chest for a body catch:

Even further evidence as he brings his left arm into his body to meet the right one and secure the catch into his body.  However, it was coming in extremely hot and went flying as soon as it hit Philly's chest

Sure didn't look like it was tipped on the slow motion replay.  Your write up is very thorough but he had a bad game and should have caught more footballs that came his way.  He keeps this up he'll have a hard time getting PT because Ginn and Boykin have been doing really well so far.

It never touched his hands. The first time it touched Brown was when it hit him right in the shoulder. In the split second just before it hit him it was clearly completely vertical. Unless there was some magic invisible rift in the air right at that spot, the ball was tipped. Doesn't matter that it ended up hitting him right in the shoulder (which people typically think should be an easy catch), because he had no time to comprehend and react to the change of the direction.
