Reggie Wayne to New England?

And last year we ended up with one of the worst WR situations in the league and went 7-9-1.

Nicks is crap but acting like we're all set and the people who want us to improve are dumb is.... dumb.

Dumb is saying we went 7-9-1 due to our WR core.

We went 7-9-1 because:

1. We had the worst OLINE situation in the league.

2. Our starting QB had a broken rib, recovering from ankle surgery and had a broken back and was our 2nd leading rusher by 300 yards.

3. Our defense gave up 30+ points in 7 games.

4. Our offensive philosophy didn't match with our personnel.

This is why I would prefer to see us not go after a regressing veteran like Reggie Wayne or Wes Welker. We shouldn't be looking for another stop gap option, when we have young talent on the roster that could feasibly create a long term role for themselves. I would much rather see this type of depth chart than one featuring another stopgap option that won't necessarily make us any better.

I agree with you. I think Boykin and Byrd could both turn out to be productive players. The problem is the coaches aren't even giving them a chance. I want to see Boykin catching some balls from Cam on Friday. Boykin loves the back shoulder ball and it just so happens that's one of Cam's biggest strengths.

Hopefully his performance against Miami will earn him some opportunities to play with the firsts. At the end of the day he's shown flashes this pre-season and during his stay in Green Bay that he could develop into a good receiver. He deserves a shot.
