Coach Rivera: Frank Alexander, Defensive End has a torn achilles

Well, with Frank, we're pretty much just losing an unknown here. Hate it for the guy, but sometimes things just don't work out. This will give someone else a chance to make the squad, he's cost us enough over the years already.

Hope he recovers well, gets his head on straight and finds a spot on a team somewhere.

I already knew that's what it was when he went to the sideline.  He clearly didn't roll it and when he got to the table they were checking his achilles and then the doctor whispered something in his ear.

I was pissed off as soon as I saw it...   We definitely got a bad hand this year with injuries.  All I could think of was how much I wanted to skip these last two preseason games and how much I wanted the Dolphins to get the hell out of NC.

Horrible news for Frank. He seems like a great guy and I was always rooting for him to take the next step. Hopefully he can work his way back eventually.

Seriously though, that play I think was the moment for who was gonna rise as the next DE across from CJ. Ealy comes in with the swat and Frank sadly goes down. It's a fate type of moment.

I'm excited for Cox, who has an opening to make a grab for a roster spot now.
