I know you're joking, but I was talking with a few Lions fans yesterday and there's a growing feeling among some of them that Megatron could possibly be cut at the end of this season or the next.

He's due to make $24 million next year, $22 million the year after that, and then like $18-20 million every year up until he's 38.

They were talking about how if he is cut, they'd love to see him here with Cam and a healthy KB.

Megatron being a FA within the next year is a real possibility.

Saints will have some difficult decisions at WR. Joe Morgan, Josh Morgan, Willie Snead, and Nick Toon are all guys battling for a roster spot. Joe Morgan and Willie Snead would be guys who I would keep an eye on if they're cut.

I don't think Megatron would be any better than a healthy KB at this point. Megatron is noticeably slower than he was coming into the league. I think he peaked already. Still a hell of a talent obviously. But DG isn't going to shell out that kind of money.

If Nicks gets released, and we don't pounce on him I'm going to be furious.  The guy won't even attract a high amount of money.  Give him a mill, and put him on the line and see what happens.  Being back in the Carolinas couldn't hurt his career at this point.

think about that... we would have KB and Megatron out wide, with Bumblebee Funchess in the slot. and dont forget Olsen... dont know who he compares to as far as transformers characters though... haha

Probably just keep an eye on Nicks if comes lose in Tennessee for depth and an added red zone threat.  KB got so many targets last year (he deserved it and it probably accelerated his development) that if Funchess can be even just a little more efficient with targets and they spread the ball around to more pass catchers, maybe that production can be somewhat absorbed.
