This "running game" everyone keeps bringing up

We seem to forget the main reason the running game got going towards the end of the season last year was due to the read option. We had nothing to lose so they let Cam go out there and be reckless with his runs. You think we can sustain a running game without the read option this year? cause I don't think Cam can't take the amount of hits he took at the end of last year for an entire seasons. I also it not fair to Cam to make him carry the running game, along with having a rookie receiver as his number 1 for a second straight year.

it's not fair? Really guy? Football is not the sport for you.

good thing Cam isn't crying like half the over-reactive panty wearing goons on here.

I thought this thread would be about the run game always seeming to start slow under Rivera.  If the actual run game is still producing -1 to 3 yard clunks and the line still seems to struggle in run blocking, then it presents a ripple effect and problem for the entire offense.  So it again lies heavily on Ron and Shula to properly manage the players and situation we've been dealt.

Our run blocking performance tonight is something I will definitely be watching.

the panthers have been notorious for starting slow in the run game. Hopefully this year is better because we have the talent.

because there isn't a KB on the roster! That's what you're missing. You just stated that what will be missed is the attention he received. Which means teams can stack the box and lock us down on the outside. You're just a delusional fan and that's ok. You want the best, so do I. But the reality is that this offense is going to struggle.

I'm delusional?  All because I believe that the team can fill the void with him out?  Well that makes sense.  For believing in my team.  Silly me.

Agreed.  Remmers, Turner and Oher need to perform well in this regard.  I don't want to assume any of them are anything special in run-support quite yet but I'm cautiously optimistic.

I honestly think Norwell is a true diamond in the rough.  If he continues the type of play from last season (or gets even better), he could be considered a top NFL guard by the end of the season.  Kalil is a proven strong run-blocker.

That is correct.  Seems to me that it goes back 8 or more years.  Even in 2008 when double trouble was in fully swing, we didn't have our first 100 yard rusher till the 5th game of the season.

Benjamin also had a real QB in college,.something that makes a world of difference.

iirc, his qb just became the number one pick in the draft.

Don't try to correct him. He watches college football.

The same QB who almost led the nation in int's and had a huge drop off when Kelvin left? That QB?

FYI Funchess got out produced by Jeremy Gallon in college, both being thrown to by the same QB.

Didn't have one at the start of last year.  How'd that turn out?  Someone stepped up.

Pretty poorly. We were one of the worst offenses in the league the majority of the season and couldn't put many points on the board against Seattle, a team who was pretty mediocre in the postseason on defense.

IDK if he sucks, but he did under perform in college. If ignoramuses  in here try comparing him to Kelvin I'm gonna have to set them straight.

Yeah it's not like Kelvin didn't under preform for all but one season and was considered raw and unready.

Kelvin barely got playing time his first 2 seasons, while Funchess was a full blown starter by his second season playing TE.

You see at FSU they get 4 and 5 stars recruits its hard for even a sophomore to get playing time unlike Michigan whose at the bottom of the barrel.
