This "running game" everyone keeps bringing up

We seem to forget the main reason the running game got going towards the end of the season last year was due to the read option. We had nothing to lose so they let Cam go out there and be reckless with his runs. You think we can sustain a running game without the read option this year? cause I don't think Cam can't take the amount of hits he took at the end of last year for an entire seasons. I also it not fair to Cam to make him carry the running game, along with having a rookie receiver as his number 1 for a second straight year.

Defence and the running game have been what the Panthers have always done. This is old hat, but I still belive this is all about Cam and he will be a better passer this year. Balance is all we need and that's up to Shula, which I think is still the biggest question of 2015.

Lol "it's not fair on Cam to carry the running game".

Tired of the bitches on this board already.

Someone tell your boy Gettleman to stop being a cheap conservative prick, that's what you want to here boy?

Let me guess, "we can't sacrifice our future"

Let me guess, you want that money spent on Reggie Wayne or another similar season saver?

You're representing everything that's wrong with our panic driven fan base. Yeh, we've had injuries and issues in the past that ruined seasons, but since Gman the message has always been don't panic when we're hit with issues and we've been to two straight playoffs even though the sky was falling down around us every preseason.

You know which teams are known for  panicking and making reactionary changes? The Jets, Browns and Bucs. Teams like Green Bay and the Steelers trust the rosters and personalities they have without collapsing into a puddly pool of piss.

Screw Reggie Wayne I want someone who can actually compete for the number 1 spot and if that means trading anything but a first round pick so be it.

You actually think a 7 win season was some sort of success? You take solace in having a losing record? You know what playing it safe has got us, no where, no SB and losing record.

Go check the recent SB winners, the pats finally coughed up money for Revis and Browner. Play it safe while every other team passes you by.

There is a difference between trusting the talent on the roster and playing it safe. All off season we've heard stories about how this WR group was the deepest in years and all that. Now that our no. 1 goes down, the entire group has suddenly went to poo? I dont get it, we still have depth and we still have guys who i trust can produce in this league.

If you want Marty Hurney back, you can have him. I for one prefer af GM(an) who puts trust in the team that he's built and doesnt poo himself and makes rash decisions everytime something doesnt go according to plan.

Who ever said this WR as deep was lying to themselves, none if these guys would start in any other team. We had a weak receiving core with Kelvin now we have the worst. If they produce its due to Cam's greatness point blank period.

Hurney was another play it safe GM, no free agents, no trades and always drafting defense. Sounds familiar?

    • Just had Thanksgiving meal with a couple dozen family and friends. I lucked out and got one of the smoked turkey legs. Stuffing, mashed taters and gravy, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, kale, smoked ham, chicken and rice, corn, lima beans, cranberry sauce, and great people. My brother got his guitar out and we got to singing. Lots of actual conversations with people I hardly  ever get to see, haven't seen in a while, or who I never met before. Just a great moment to remember.
    • 3-8 would be a higher win percentage than 3-9
    • Same... With the personnel the Niners had, that defense could have been historically good in the right hands. Under Wilks they were certainly good, they didn't quite rise to that level. Honestly, I see Wilks kinda like I see Rivera: fantastic person, decent head coach. Skill wise, phenomenal DB coach, so-so DC. His greatest strength is his leadership. Hard to find many better in that department. In the Xs and Os / execution area though, not as good. Bottom Line: Wilks is the sort of coach that needs a staff that excels in those aspects of the game where he's weaker. But, like Rivera, I don't know that he scouts assistants very well. That as much as anything might be why he's not in the NFL now.
