If you own a house in Ballantyne area

I work in Ballantyne...  It's absolutely terrible and they planning on building apartment complexes...  Cannot even image the rage it will cause.

Oh they are already building them.  One is pretty much completed on the south side of Ballantyne and they just broke ground on another.  Everything I fugging own has been covered in dirt for a year due to all the construction in the area.  It just so happens I meet with my realtor tomorrow to put my house on the market.

One word for all this:  Bubble.

Yep...My wife and I bought at the bottom of the market and our house has almost doubled in value. That is because we are in what is considered to be one of the top 'hoods in charlotte to live and the bubble. It wasn't like that 4 years ago. We are coming to a point where we need more room in our humble abode and only considered selling/purchasing for a hot second. Since we got in on the bottom of the market I am thinking we might just put another $xxx, xxxx into an addition which when done we will remortgage and still be able to afford if/when the bubble pops. I can add on for the same price total that I could sell my current house for...or I might wait for it to pop and then bring in someone to build the additon when they are more in need of work and I can get it done cheaper.

It's crazy out there.

Honestly, I would probably sell and re-invest rather than add on...but if you love your home and location, who cares.

I'm more worried about an apartment bubble rather than a full on housing bubble like 07-12.

Good luck...  You are about to witness an explosion of apartment complexes.

I swear that until I scrolled down and read the other comments I was trying to figure out if Arsen was in that area and smelled some sort of natural gas leak or if he was planning some sinister terrorist attack.

I need a vacation.
