Kelvin Benjamin carted off at practice

Do y'all think Funch can be as effective out of the gate as Kelvin was last year?

Who knows? I hope we don't have to find out.

Seems like they always keep our injuries much tighter knit than most teams. I swear Bene was day-to-day for about 5 weeks last year.

Yeah the organization controls the information distribution. I'm sure they'll get the word out pretty soon.

In my experience as a government worker that is in no way connected to the medical field, I think the opposite is true. When there is a complete tear it's pretty obvious to the guy examining the patient. Otherwise it's an "I don't know...let's get the MRI" type injury. So in this case no news is better news. At least according to my wealth of experience on subjects other than this one...in any way.

Im betting that its just sprain

Is a WR rotation of Funchess, Corey Brown, Cotchery, and Ted Ginn as good as what we had in 2013?

I'm wondering the same thing. I haven't seen enough of Funch yet. Maybe Funch and Olsen could combine for around 2,000 and Philly/Ginn combine for around 1,200? If we can combine that with averaging 100+ yds/game rushing that will probably be enough to at least win the South again with our Defense.

I think Funchess is definitely going to have some great moments and will provide a mismatch for some games but the guy we'll need to count on here is Corey Brown. Should KB be out a while(God Forbid) it'll be Corey's chance to reach the #2 role. Ginn is what he is but just maybe he can have an even bigger year with Cam than 2013.

There were 5 WR's on the roster then, with Smith, LaFell, and Ginn the only ones in double digit receptions. Don't forget Boykin and Bersin. Nobody's a replacement for Smith or Benjamin, but otherwise I think we're better at WR than in '13 or '14.

For those that are wondering why the Dolphin player was already confirmed. Think about this. It is a lot closer to truck him up to Charlotte and be examined by the team doctors than it is to get him to Miami. The team is probably more comfortable going back to Charlotte, which is only 2 hours away than doing an MRI in a hospital in Spartanburg. No other option for the Dolphin player though. Just my two cents on why there is a difference in diagnosis timing.

Also, I really really hope that this is just a sprain. For the team and for KB himself.

They likely confirmed the ACL tear without even needing an MRI. Either the Panthers are trying to delay the inevitable or Rivera was being truthful when he said it was a sprain but they are doing an MRI to confirm. If they do believe it's a sprain now, it's unlikely MRI shows an ACL tear. Hoping for the best, and hoping for it to come soon.
