Luke's Contract Talks are Heating up

I've always wanted to panic over nothing.

Luke doesn't want to stay in Charlotte. Dave is setting him up for failure by not giving him the tools he needs to succeed. Luke wants to go to a bigger market for not exposure.

Lol I like where your heads at so let's run with this like the folks bashing Gettleman for not signing Cam would.

"I'm scared Luke won't come back cuz da Gettles kickd da Krakin outs and look at da line suckin it at da Bills and da back a da D is all like rookies and old guys WHY He NO SIGN DA REVIS or MCCORTY?!?!?!  It's cuz the big cat just want da $$$$ say bye bye to Luuuuuuuke"

Where'd those Huddlers go to? They always gave me a chuckle

Why do people keep saying that he will be the highest paid LB in the league?

mainly because of 2 reasons.

1. He has a solid claim that he has the biggst impct amog LB's in the NFL. Droy and DPOY to back it up.

2. Recent ILB contracts have been worth roughly 10 million a season and have been stagnant since Willis signed his contract years ago.

I also wouldn't be surprised if they use Matthews contract as a baseline. "Yes I know he is a pass rushing OLB."

Take a look at Justin Houston's contract and see if you think Luke will get that much.

i've already said I expect around 13-14 a season over 5 years, putting him right under Houston with a 5 year 68-70 million dollar deal. Making him by far the highest paid ILB in the NFL. That's based off of Matthews deal.

He will be the highest paid 4-3 middle linebacker in the league, which will put him above 4-3 outside linebackers, and 3-4 inside linebackers.

Anyone comparing him to a 3-4 outside linebacker is an idiot, as they get paid closer to defensive ends.

So he will be the highest paid linebacker in the league, when looked at against other linebackers and not pass-rushers who happen to be standing up when the ball is snapped.

I agree, but I wish folks would use the distinction.

Highest paid ILB, just like Beason was here.
