Steve Smith Makes It Clear - HE Will Choose Who He Retires With

Yep, because winning a Super Bowl makes all the little petty things disappear. G-Man has made all the right moves thus far. That tells me, he was right about Smitty holding the locker room hostage.

what i originally posted was intended more as a commentary on the fanbase than on the actual decision to release steve smith last year.  i was still defending gettleman's personnel decisions even during the losing streak in the middle of last season and getting poo on for it.  it was a tough yet fundamentally sound decision to cut him loose.

the salary cap implications alone were reason enough to release him, let alone the stuff jeremy and others who have actually been in a locker room with him have talked about.

IN OTHER, MORE PANTHERS-RELATED NEWS: The Bucs looked pretty damn bad tonight. Winston was very up and down, more down, and their o-line looked absolutely atrocious, and to top it off they most likely lost their starting RT to injury (awaiting MRI). Feel bad for the guy and never wish injury upon any player, but fug the Bucs.

May deserve it's own thread if someone else wants to make one. One was made about the Saints, so...

ehh he's just being saucy for the sake of being saucy. he'll "think about it" and after "much deliberation" decide that "god" wanted him to retire here and we'll all cry happy joy tears. i know i will.

so, what kind of sauce are we talking? I like tangy almost vinegary...

Steve Smith is like the girlfriend that you love for whatever reason, and then when you break up you hate them for the same reasons.

His salty dickheadedness endeared him to Carolina fans, but now that he is focusing that salty energy towards the Panthers, it makes him seem like kind of a shithead.

I love Smitty, but at this point I'd love for the Panthers to win the Super Bowl the year that he retires in a Ravens jersey. Let him limp back home with his tail tucked between his legs... Could've been a part of the run if he had dialed back the douchedickery

I love Smitty to death, but that last line is spot on. Be that guy on the field, even occasionally in the locker room when players start acting out...but you got be a good teammate. He probably could have finally got that coveted slot position he always wanted if he had dialed his attitude in the locker room back.

Oh well...here's to hoping he wises up and retires a Panther.
