Was Cam on a Mandate not to Run last night??

WOW!!

Just wanted to know because Cam totally could have taken off a few times..

On the 1st series he had a chance to break out for a big run on 3rd down .. But he move outside the pocket kept his eyes down field and threw it out of bounds when nobody was open and the defense was closing in on him... Which is a good thing because it means he is working on his pocket passer skills in the pre-season. . I just hope he looks to convert that in the regular season. ..

I'm also glad they are not calling runs for him

.. I hope this is a clear plan to save him from injuries and they know the offense has the Read option good already...

He knows he can always improvise and run for a first down. Not something that needs to be practiced in preseason. He is smart to work on the things that still do need plenty of practice.

I agree I just wanted to know if anybody notice that play on 3rd down..

Preseason games are most often prescripted with what plays the coaches want to see with the personnel on the field, especially with the 1st preseason game. Scoring is an added bonus. My guess is that Cam was told not to run even if he could get a 1st down after his bruising his ribs in the preseason last year. Above all, they want him going into the season healthy.
