Aaaaaand the 49ers offseason from Hell continues.

Linebacker Ahmad Brooks has been indicted in a sexual assault case that's connected to former 49er Ray McDonald.

I swear, in over 40 years of football watching, I have never seen a team take this many hits in one offseason.

I'm not even gonna...

According to Paula Lavigne of ESPN, Enemkpali had to miss his college season opener because he injured his hand punching a man he thought was a woman with whom he had arranged to have sex via the internet.

Enemkpali needed surgery to repair the damage to his hand, but wasn’t going to play in Louisiana Tech’s game against Southern Mississippi anyway because he was suspended for punching an off-duty cop at a bar in Ruston, Louisiana earlier that year.

PFT

The report said the whole thing started when he began exchanging messages with a Facebook friend named “Missy Lee,” who offered him oral sex if he came to her house. When he entered, he found her covered head to toe in a blanket and when she wouldn’t remove the blanket, he left. But after “Missy Lee” called him back, he returned to the house, but she still wouldn’t come out from under the blanket or turn on the light. Fortunately (I guess), a cell phone rang, and the light of the screen revealed the person he was talking to had facial hair and another person had entered the room.

Thinking he was about to be robbed, he punched the person under the blanket, at which point the screams of pain revealed “Missy Lee” to be male.

I used to think this stuff only happened in Florida

Well, this could get interesting.

Ryan Mallett is not at Texans practice. When asked why, coach Bill O'Brien said that was between he and Mallett and that it was "a personal issue with him".

Mallett has been a tad salty about not winning the Texans starting quarterback job.

possibly wants a trade?

I think the Jets are the only shot he has at starting this year.

Here's an item that ought to elicit a chuckle or two...

Saints spending one fifth of their cap on players who aren't on the team

Every NFL team has some dead money on its salary cap, money that is allocated to a certain player who’s no longer on the team. But no team is allocating cap space like the Saints.

In New Orleans, 20 percent of the cap is dead money, according to Spotrac. Among the players who count huge amounts against the Saints’ salary cap even though they’re no longer on the team are tight end Jimmy Graham ($9 million), guard Ben Grubbs ($6 million), linebacker Junior Galette ($5.45 million) and linebacker Curtis Lofton $5 million).

The Saints’ cap situation has been problematic for a while now, and the problem isn’t going away. Based on the contracts they already have, the Saints are projected to be $7.3 million over the cap next year.
