Around the NFL

I watched the Falc'ants/Jets last night.

- Matt Ryan will still pick you apart if you don't pressure him.  Pressure him and he becomes an entirely different QB.

- Falc'ants running game is very bad.  At least for now.

- Not a lot of improvement on the Falc'ant offensive or defensive fronts.  Beasley had a couple of flashes, but he got dominated a lot in that game.

- Leonard Williams is going to be a beast for the Jets.

- Why does Ryan Fitzpatrick keep getting chance after chance to start in the NFL?  Hes terrible.  Bryce Petty showed a lot of potential for the Jets last night.

- If Julio Jones goes down for any amount of time this season, the Falc'ants are done.

How can I be that unwanted by my employer?

"I'm not necessarily looking at Suh numbers," Dareus said. "I just want to be treated right." Dareus turned down a six-year, $90 million offer from Buffalo. He's likely asking for a deal in the $100 million range, but less than the $114M Suh got from Miami. Dareus is open to playing under the franchise tag in 2016, which would pay him roughly $11.2 million.

I'd like to be treated poorly for 90M, please.

The next thing we'll probably hear out of his mouth is that he's a "slave".

Yes a NFL season is often a battle of attrition. We've taken a blow from the injury bug, but a lot of other teams will as well. The Saints, Falcons, Seattle, GB, any team can be weakened from injury and improve our situation. Not to mention criminal activity and suspension. We have a loooong season ahead and we're already hearing about suspensions and key injuries striking other teams. No need to think the season is going to be a disaster. Not yet anyway.

And so 3 days later GB is hit with a major injury. I'm sorry it happened, but it might improve our situation.

Not that I necessarily want Reggie Wayne (wouldn't be mad if we got him), but it does bother me that when a different playoff contending organization loses its' top WR (Jordy Nelson), that they are already rumored to be bringing him in for a workout. And I'd also have to say that the Packers and Ted Thompson have a pretty stellar front office that usually avoids free agency.

We might not be on the level of the Packers this season, but we are definitely a playoff contender, and with a healthy WR unit, could make a run in the post season. Kind of frustrating. Fingers crossed that someone of value is cut in a couple of weeks that would help us.

I caught some of the Rams/Titans game this weekend and saw Bell at LG.  He looked similar to how he looked at tackle... take that as you will.

I always thought Bell was better suited to guard, but he didn't play well enough at any position to be worth having as a starter here.

Maybe the new surroundings will help.
