Brandon Browner carted off with leg injury

can you stop pandering and just give me some hard proof your team is innocent of everything and bountygate was a complete fabrication?

A. The proof I gave back on page 2. Undeniable lies by the NFL.

B. Players suspensions being vacated. Players had an option to appeal and be heard by an arbitrator because of the Union. The coaches didn't have that option.

C. Anthony Hargrove being suspended for screaming "Give me my money!" after the hit to Brett Favre in the Championship game. The NFL claimed it had definitive proof it was Hargrove. They later backed off that claim, because Hargrove wasn't even in the game at the time, nor was he one who hit Favre.

What did the NFL gain from draggingIt didn't make his league look bad. It made the team look bad, while he made it seem like he was doing his best for player safety in the middle of a lawsuit.

Riddle me this...what did the NFL exactly gain from all of this Bountygate in the end?  Are the Saints in Los Angeles?  Did revenue somehow increase?  Inquiring minds want to know.

How is that any different than this:

Giants players about 49ers Kyle Williams in NFC Championship game:

"The thing is, we knew he had four concussions, so that was our biggest thing, was to take him outta the game," said Jacquian Williams, who forced the second fumble, in overtime, to set up New York's game-winning field goal.

"He's had a lot of concussions," said Devin Thomas, who recovered both fumbles. "We were just like, 'We gotta put a hit on that guy.'" Later in the same interview, he told the Newark Star-Ledger that teammate and backup safety Tyler Sash "did a great job hitting him early and he looked kind of dazed when he got up. I feel like that made a difference and he coughed it up.

This doesn't make the Saints innocent. At least you didn't try to say that the NFL doctored the audio or something. Teams have a hierarchical structure. When your coach tells you to do something, it's your ass if you don't do it. He's your boss. When another player is crowing about hitting a guy with concussions, it doesn't have the same effect. Now that doesn't excuse the player from encouraging his teammates to out a guy with concussions. Round up all players and coaches telling others to try and cause injury to their fellow players. Just because the NFL, which is a work in progress to put it mildly, didn't punish everyone in the NFL who ever said something even remotely close to what you're former scumbag Saint coach said does NOT make the Saints innocent.

In an attempt to get this thread BOT, how important is Browner really?  He wasn't going to save the Saints' season.

Deion Sanders in his prime wouldn't save the Saints' season.

According to all Saints fans he's the best cornerback in the league.

It's all about the look with the NFL, man. As a Panthers fan, with Hardy, you should understand that.

The original "accusation" came from a Vikings player in 2010 who said he heard players bragging about it during the game. He later retracted his story. The NFL then opened an investigation in 2011, when information from a "former employee" was brought up. The first lawsuit for concussions was opened against the NFL in 2011. For years they took the stand that they didn't know about the negative affects of concussions, which also later came out to be bullshit.

So when you're fighting a lawsuit because of player safety, what's better than being able to show exactly how serious you are about player safety? This quote by Goodell says it all:

“The bounty rule promotes two key elements of N.F.L. football: player safety and competitive integrity. It is our responsibility to protect player safety and the integrity of our game, and this type of conduct will not be tolerated. We have made significant progress in changing the culture with respect to player safety and we are not going to relent.”

I think it's always big to lose a starter, to be frank. Not sure how this season will turn out, but the #2 corner was a huge problem last year. Browner was supposed to fix that. Hopefully it's minor.

i do believe bountygate happened

BUT

Saints were used by Goodell as a "Look I care about player safety!"

No way in hell Saints are, or were, the only bounty team. Just a recently successful team he could throw under the bus.
