Full Madden Team Grades

Everyone thinks they are athletic. SUre there are exceptions to the rule. Some NFL players play video games. But for every athletic guy that plays there are 10 who aren't.

As for me, at 59 years of age I still rock climb, rappel, Whitewater raft, scuba dive and work out.  Maybe I am still active because I don't waste my time playing video games instead choosing to actually do the activity for real.

Mad no, amused? Often

Over 1.2 billion gamers worldwide so that would make about 100 million athletic ones by your count.

Responding was a good way to pass the time while waiting for my son at soccer practice from 6-8. Gotta work now.. Beats playing video games.....

"Being on an Internet message board is so much better than those nerdy video games. Only unathletic people like Cam Newton play them."

88 Ted Ginn speed really has my mind blown, i mean 88 speed in Madden really isnt that fast. If they dont have speed they will need to have really good route running to be effective in the game. Somebody either dropped the ball or didnt care when they did that.

I would have thought so to, but this is an out dated stigma. The fat nerdy kids played video games when we were growing up. Now, all young people play them, boys especially. You would be hard pressed to find an athletic kid under the age of 30 that does not also play video games.

not sure which group I fall in with. On one hand, I used to surf, skateboard, play baseball, street hockey, basketball and mountain biked. Messed up a knee and ankle skateboarding, then reinjured the ankle playing basketball. Got diagnosed with gout at 20 while i was vegetarian and slowly turned into a fat geek who loves video games. Went so far as I ended up switching into a IT field for my career. Haha

Also, gotta agree so many people play games now its not even funny 100 million consoles each generation plus PC gamers, even if a ton only pick up a system for NBa, Madden and COD...still gaming and putting in quite a few hours a week.

The issue is still a big concern. Not so much that athletes play or don't play video games as much as people in general are less athletic in general. So the stigma continues. Video games didn't cause  less athletic behavior so much as it is a symptom of the problem which is fewer kids and adults exercise at all and are athletic so the end result is the same,  Athletes who play at a high level have actually gotten more athletic but fewer kids and adults are physically fit and athletic. That is my point. Not that athletes play video games but for every athlete who plays there are tons more who aren't athletic and sit around doing little.

the issue isn't that athletes play or don't play video games so much as 80% of all adults don't exercise much at all. The statistic with under 18 isn't much better except that while in school they are forced to get some exercise through PE.  People think they are more athletic than they are. Is this caused by video games? Not more than TV or a number of other sedentary exercises. But if the vast majority of people are unathletic then it makes sense that the vast majority of video games are unathletic as well. And that was and still is my point.  Kids spend 7 hours a day on social media and video games a day and exercise less than an hour. It really isn't rocket science that most kids and people in general are not athletic anymore.

TL:DR- If most everyone plays video games and 80% of people are not physically fit, then 80% or more of videogamers are not physically fit or athletic although they think they are more fit then they are.
