The window is closing in terms of the guys that took us to Superbowl 38 (Jake, Smith, Peppers, Muhammed).

The good news is that we have lots of young talent on this team but we still have a big ? when it comes to who takes over for Jake. You can have all the talent you want but if the guy under center isn't getting it done then it almost doesn't matter.

An uncapped year will be a disaster for small-market teams like Carolina. It would turn the NFL into MLB and we would be the Montreal Expos, a farm team for the Giants, Cowboys, Patirots and Redskins.

I would tend to disagree...We do make a good bit of money for a small market team...just sayin

the direction the franchise is heading is getting younger. All teams go through it. It brings a bit of doubt and a bit of insecurity and tends to make things like preseason serve as a legitimate precursor for the actual season for some (most it seems).

It is not the end of the world to transition away from what we all experienced as our comfort zone since the superbowl but this is a necessity and we will all live through it.
