i know what cool downs are no need to be a douch. Ability delay is the time between pressing your command and it executing in game. if you don't know what ability delay is you must be a clicker.

Pressing the key or clicking would give you the same result if there were a delay and both would be because of your system, internet, etc... In other words it is on your end. Change servers if you're not playing on a server in your time zone.

You can "adjust" your ability delay with two things.

1 Under preferences find the Ability Queue option and set it to 0.0 (I dont recall off the top of my head where it is exactly)

2 Realize that for some strange reasons the devs use the "key up" event instead of the "key press" event to register actions. This means the client doesn't register your command until you release the key e.g. nothing happens when you press "1", it happens when you release it.

The latter of those two is just pure lunacy on the part of the devs. It takes either retraining yourself of a programmable input device to overcome.

There is a delay problem and it's not related to latency. It seems to be a core problem in the way combat has been implemented. This post describes it well with video examples:

And the devs are aware and looking into it.

To me it's a big problem for the future but I'm having enough fun playing the game for now.

edit: this video nails it

Its a long way from perfect but I'm getting my moneys worth.

I don't know if Ill make it to half of the time I put into WoW but I think that's got less to do with Biowares implementation and more to do with my general apathy towards the general paradigm of today's MMOs.

BTW I dumped the Juggy and went Merc BH, went light side instead of brooding dark side, and am having a TON more fun.

The story really does matter. I knew it'd be great but I didn't think it would make as big of a difference as it has. Last night I realized I'm level 46 and haven't done a single flashpoint and haven't done any heroic quests besides a few with Kurb.

I just hit 50, and if you're playing a BH, LS is the way to go. Most of the options just make more sense for anyone who is out for themselves, as most hunters aren't ruthless killers but people who capture targets, typically bad people, for money.

Personally, I play my BH as a neutral character. Being out for myself, If I feel like a target deserves to die, they usually die. As long as the credits are the same, I really don't care if they live or die.

That usually ends up being the light side choice though. ;)

Honestly I have a hard time seeing anyone going straight DS unless they are just trying to get points or are a psychopath.

I completed every quest I could find on taris, I'm taking leveling slow and really immersing myself into the story. I think I was level 25 when I left taris.

Wow I thought I finished most of them and I ended up leaving at level 15 I think. Now I'm 19? or 20? and I'm a little underpowered for Nar Shaddaa, although I was doing fairly well on the other low level planet when I left. I still need to get the gist of the mod station process.

Just remember that orange items can be upgraded as you level so you can keep the same item.
