Star Wars The Old Republic

I was planning on Jugg but after playing a Guardian during the beta I was a bit turned off to it. I'll probably start off playing a Jugg though and see if it gets better at higher levels. Definitely playing a Sage on Republic side.

i'd feel like i was robbing myself of half the experience and emotional investment by playing a pve server

if i wanted to not have to worry about pvp on an mmo, then i'd go play ddo or lotro something dedicated to pve

without pvp world of warcraft is a really really really boring experience, nothing more than a glorified social network

on dcuo you can switch between pvp and pve servers anytime you want :D

I can't really disagree with you there. Later on with wow pvp go too 'sanitized' and separate, it was kind of nice to just go out and do one aspect of the game without worrying about getting ganked. When I was playing a pvp server, for a long time there was no battlegrounds, no arena's, no pvp system at all, you simply pvped for the enjoyment of it and nothing else. Ah those were the salad days.

So if I already did my pre-order code months ago, but can no longer find my Gamestop receipt, am I fugged for early access?

as long as you put your code into your forum account onto swtor.com you are good to go.

but once the 20th hits if you dont put in your retail code you have to wait until you get said code inputed.

ps. when it comes to gamestop all you need is your ID to pick up your game copy so you're ok.

half the reason i quit playing was they stripped the world of pvp

the rest was it was just too repetitive

I'm really hoping the the open pvp areas like Ilum become popular so we can get lots of random encounters like prime time DAOC. I tried Mordred on DAOC and the ganking was just out of control. When I want to PvE I want to PvE. I don't want to have to worry constantly that some asshole is going to jump me mid pull just to get his rocks off.

So I was in the beta and opened the launcher for SWTOR and it spent roughly 10-15 minutes updating, but then says there is no subscription for this account and the play button is greyed out. Is this just until my early access on the 13th, or do I need to reinstall everything again??

Edit: Went to the SWTOR forums and looked into this, and it is apparently normal and I am good to go. Early access on the 13th bitches!! Woohoo!!

daoc wasn't faction based was it? anyone could attack anyone?

i don't think i'd care for that style of pvp. i like knowing who my enemies are.
