Zut alors! French site www.starwars-universe.com is reporting a source in contact with LucasArts has revealed BioWare's MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic, is currently scheduled for release in October 2010. Well, actually what they said was Octobre 2010, but we broke that code pretty quickly. This date is in agreement with claims that EA made last year that it was funding an MMO in Austin that was due to be released in fiscal year 2010.

don't expect this to be anything other than KOTOR3,4,5, etc... at least, I'm not. I'll be buying it and playing it and loving it... but I don't expect to subscribe to it for very long. I'll get as much as I can out of the story though.

I haven't seen anything that makes me think the game will be much of an MMO, but it should be a kick ass RPG with some social elements.

I'm going to pick up Rift: Planes of Telara to play around with a bit in my free time as my MMORPG... though with graduate school I don't have a ton of gaming time, but plenty of forum time. Yipee.

I do like DDO though, and I play a bit on Global Agenda, even though its not a true MMO.

Rumors of a September Release:

Game business site MCV is reporting that sources within BioWare have informed it that the long-awaited PC MMORPG will arrive at an undisclosed date in September. As of press time EA had not responded to GameSpot's request for comment or clarification on the purported delay.
