Panther Fan Role Call

X-Clown on 1

Recommended Posts

I am originally from Greenville, SC. My earliest fan moment was being at Memorial Stadium for the first regular season win in franchise history. My favorite moment would be the x-clown win over the Rams. So frustrating up until that play, them BAM!!!! So many emotions in that game. The ultimate cardiac cats game.

The blocked extra point was pretty damn awesome too though.

I now live in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, so all of my Panthers news and experiences are lived vicariously through this site and everyone who still lives close enough to be there. Thanks for that.

Well, I am from Parts Unkonwn (in the Triangle), and no memories really stand out (per se). It may not be what you're looking for, but my best memory as a fan was when shopping at Burlington Coat Factory in 1994, my wife came up to me with this nice leather jacket that was only $65, and asked if I wanted it.

The jack is still in great condition. Good leather.

I'm from the shenendoah valley in Virginina. I was little and everyone was a Redskin or a Cowboy fan. I didn't like the the Redskins and I especially didn't like the Cowboys. So when my dad and I were watching the Panthers play Dallas in the 2003 playoffs and win I liked them and decided they were just as local as Washington and became a fan.

They of course then made it to the Super Bowl. So that's my earliest memory.

I live in Houston Texas.  Originally from Havelock NC (military brat).  Went to ECU, failed out, joined the military, went back to school first at Cape Fear Community College, then UNCW.  Accepted to graduate school at UofH.  Getting my PhD in Neuropsychology and currently training at the 2nd best rehabilitation hospital in the country, TIRR Memorial Hermann in the Houston medical center.

My first memories of the Panthers involved the 1996 NFC Championship game.  My dad went out and bought us all Carolina Panthers NFC Champion T-shirts to wear for the game.  I was 12 at the time.  It wasn't later until college that I really got into the Panthers.  The 2003 season was my Sophomore year of college at ECU.  Really got into the Panthers during that season and have been following them closely ever since.

Grew up in Charlotte, work in NYC now. Hopefully will make it back soon.

Earliest special memory is eating some of those spicy Bojangles nuggets during a cold home game when I was probably 9 or 10 years old.

Oh - and superb owl during middle school.

If we're picking roles of actors we'd want to portray us, the obvious choice for me would be Samuel L. Jackson...

If you're doing a roll call, I'm from Johnston-by gawd- county.

My earliest memory, other than watching them on TV from day one, would be going to my first game at age 16. I got on a bus in Durham and went by myself, not knowing anyone else with me.

It was the preseason game against the Broncos when Romanowski broke Kerry Collins' jaw... IIRC that was the debut season of the modern Broncos jerseys too...

I'm from the metropolis of Lincolnton hence the L in L-Town.

Best memory of a Panthers game was walking the concourse and running into Dell Curry and Matt Geiger.  My buddy shook hands with Geiger as we passed but neither guy let go and when they finally did, my buddy inadvertantly slapped the 5 foot woman walking between them in the face.  It wasn't Sonya Curry so it must have been Geiger's chick. Either way I hit the floor laughing and Dell and Matt found it pretty funny too.  My bud was red as a stop sign and appologizing profuseley.

I went to the draft party at carowinds prior to our first season. I was upset we traded away the chance for Ki-Jana Carter and picked  Kerry Collins. I am trying to recall but I may have made a statement in the paper or was on the news complaining about it. I was 16 at the time. I still complain.

Born and raised in the heart of Winston Salem...living in Acworth, GA (Basically ATL).

Most special moment for me as a Panther fan was probably that super bowl run in 2003, and the saints game I attended back when Kasay kicked the game winning fg. That was the first ever game that I attended.

Kansas City here, and I've been to every game at Arrowhead.  In summer of 1995, 12 year old me thought the Carolina hat in my local sports store looked pretty cool and I bought it.  Started reading about the team (was never a Chiefs fan) and it was all downhill from there.

Lots of cool memories but one of thethe coolest was standing in the hotel bar of a convention I was attending in St. Louis the day of the 2003 playoff game.  Couldn't,t get tickets to the game itself but me and a couple of guys from around the country were watching, and right before X-Clown I declared, "Steve Smith, big play, right here." They were dumbfounded watching my prediction come truetrue, and I did a victory dance right there in the bar as the employees shot me death glares.

Coming at you live form the Guilford county courthouse, up here in beautiful Greensboro, NC. Just kidding I'm from Reidsville, NC but now in Summerfield right above Greensboro. My first memory of the panthers was when I got the "buy a PSL" in the mail back in 92 or 93 I think and I remember the campaign "bring NFL to the Carolinas". I had been watching the dreaded Raleigh Skyhawks. I grew up a Redskin fan but after Jack Kent Cook passed, I decided if I had children I want to carry them to some games. Much closer to Charlotte than to DC.
