how young is too young to take your kid to a panthers game?

This is a good question.

I think bringing her to a pre-season game (when you think she is ready) as a test-run is the best option.

Fans are generally more chill, although I got a whole beer spilled on me as a kid at a Panthers pre-season game. I thought it was funny, my dad did not.

I would agree but preseason games are typically at night ... which changes the environment.  Even though it is just preseason, plenty of fans have been starved for football and look to make a fun night of it.  If you are highly sensitive to that, probably better to choose a day game.

We took our son (now 7) when he was 4. He sat through the entire game, only once did I have to get up to get him food and a drink. Which was right before halftime. You WILL miss some of the game, BUT BoA has made it almost impossible to miss much while in the stadium. So, if she is genuinely into football and the Panthers. It shouldn't be too much trouble.

Exp: I've taken my kid to at least 1 game a season for 3 years.

I took my four year old to the Falcons game last year. He had a good time before the game, seeing Sir Purr, banging the drum at the entrance, etc... but he got a little tired by the third quarter. The game was a downer until we scored some touchdowns in the fourth. He got back into it then. I think it was a good age for him.

Same here.  I take my son to 1 game per year, and try to take him to TC a couple of times per year.  I think he likes TC better than the games because of the player interaction.  He gets a bigger thrill from seeing them up close than watching them play.

To OP, I started taking my son when he hit 1st grade.  My reasoning was simply that I thought it was a good age where I didn't have to constantly hold his hand, plate, drink, etc., and he was able to walk to and from the tailgates/games on his own(bigger/stronger).  He's a mature kid, and I would have had no problems taking him at any age, but it would have been more of a burden, to try to fight that crowd with a little kid, plus having to likely carry and "eagle eye" them the whole time.  Just didn't seem like an enjoyable experience for either of us.

My daughter turned two in May, and I know she's still to young for the game experience, but I've also seen some little-ass kids hanging out at the endzone seats collecting touchdown footballs from Cam. I have always thought five or six is a decent benchmark, as much for the other fans in the stadium as for the kid (no one wants to be stifled by sitting next to a toddler (same reason I refuse to bring my kid into a bar to eat.)

I'm curious what the thoughts are on this.

You sir are a Saint... The good kind, not the shitty New Orleans kind. Remember when you asked me about why I got banned from my favorite bar? It was because I got too excited when we beat the Cardinals. I was hooting, hollering, and basically being a drunken fan, and there were children present. It's a fuging bar... Who brings there kids to a bar? If your kids need a high chair and crayons to keep them quiet so you can enjoy your meal they shouldn't be there. From time to time me and my brother take my 5 yr old niece with us, but she's always there hootin', hollerin', and watching the game with me. lol

I'd attach photos but i'm on a work PC.  My daughter is 2.  I've taken her To BOA, Buffalo, Detroit, and New England.  I've had zero issues with her.  My wife or I usually walk with her around the concourses if she gets antsy.

We usually have seats field level 10-25 rows up.  Never had an Issue with opposing fans or Panther Fans.  She wears her 1 jersey.  I wear my 59.  No matter where we go.

I've only ever had issues with opposing fans usually i'm in their respective stadium. When I'm not with my family.  i.e. a guys trip.  All and all it's what you're comfortable with your child experiencing.  My wife always says let our child into our life.  Not the opposite.  Working so far...

I've got a 4 year old and he says he wants to go but I also know he hasn't sat still for 3.5 hrs since he learned to walk.  I'm gonna wait awhile.  Training camp/FanFest stuff like that for the little ones is the way to go.

agree.  Start with fanfest....then try a preseason game (you can bolt out at halftime if they get too restless)...then move to reg season when they seem ready

The first games I remember going to my Dad with would be Hornets/ UNC basketball games when I was in the 5-7 years old range (22 now).  From what I've been told I went to games before that but don't really remember them.  I believe I went to my first Panthers game around that same time maybe a little it later.  My first game I really remember going to is probably MJs last game in Charlotte as a Bull.

Personally I was already addicted to basketball and sports in general at that point, and I was the one normally begging to stay when my dad wanted to leave!

I don't have any kids of myself yet, but I'll definitely be taking them a lot of games at young age.  I think it's a great way to bond, and one of the ways that I still bond with my dad.

If it's in Philadelphia, it's 45 or older
