is it ward vs tolbert or ward vs brockel?

 

or none of the above

It seems it's more Ward vs Brockel.  Brockel is 2" taller, but they are build the same (short stocky bulldozers).  Brockel is listed as TE/FB, and he's the better blocking TE, but Ward is much better out of the backfield.  They both have similar quality hands, but Ward is younger and will cost slightly less on the cap hit.  Tolbert is a lock not matter what, so Ward is no competition for him.  Ward either goes PS, or replaces Brockel.  Brockel really doesn't do anything wrong, so it's a matter if Ward is just that much better to replace him?
