New Dumb Ass Rule Changes

If a receiver is looking a catch in and you hit him, it's a flag.  If a running back cut blocks, it's a flag.  Those are the ones that make me shake my head the most.  

But it also protects our players not just the opposing teams.  Would you prefer Benjamin get blown up by someone and no flag be thrown?

So, according to the verbage of the rule, every WR being targeted by a pass is by rule a defenseless player.  Hitting in the secondary just got officially banned.

The receiver tracking the football rule basically means that if a pass gets tipped at the line you can no longer blow up the receiver who is still tracking the ball. 

 

I doubt the "peace-making" rule will actually be called much this year at all.

I think the RB rule is being misinterpreted.  They specifically say chop block, which means hitting someone low while they are engaged high with another blocker.  Cut blocks are where someone goes low in a 1/1 situation and that is still as legal as it was before.

The changes are nominated by the comittee made of coaches and GMs. Then its voted on by owners. Goodell is not part of the process.

Yea and I kinda agree with that rule. It's hard for receivers to tell sometimes if the ball has been tipped or not. 

 

The rule that is bullshit though are the players that breakup up fights are subject to a fine. That's stupid as fug.
