with it being training camp, they probably are more liberal using the cart than say a game situation

Thats a sh!tty thing to say. It's a major injury if it happens to anybody.

If it's a sprain and depending on how sore it is sometimes.

They absolutely would, especially in a professional sports environment. Wearing a boot shouldn't indicate to anyone that it's more serious than has been reported.
