Just find a new employer. There are exceptions, but in general most companies don't give a flying fug about employees. There are numerous studies that show people who work for one company for an extended time make much less than those who change jobs often.

Don't go running to them asking for a raise/promotion and damn sure don't tell them you're looking elsewhere. Once you secure a job offer elsewhere, then go to them and tell them to give you a raise or have a replacement ready in 2 weeks.

I hate the way companies get people to rate themselves. It's a ruse to avoid lawsuits. The bottom line is say a m gr has 20 direct reports. Upper mgmt says only 8 can get exceed. The rest go thru a bizarre game of psychoanalysis that leads them nowhere.

Negative was for that I don't work for them

My bad broksi. Had a long day and read it too fast. Id say you should join us at Publix if they keep giving you the run around. Our store managers make 110k before bonues. plus they give us stock thats trending at 42.10 a share right now and is privately traded.

I honestly was looking at publix since there is one opening about 5 minutes way from me in concord. Online they say they only accept applications when you apply in the store is that correct? The store isn't open yet

Yeah based on that you would need to contact corporate directly to see where you would need to apply as a new employee for that store. We rarely hire managers to come in and manage directly they would start you at likely an asst department manager or something like that .. which is still 40k. What we have is a kiosk that you apply at in store. It actually helps with going through apps more often because people are lazy and wanna do everything from home so they want to see commitment.

Looks to me like you just wrote your own justification. Why not just take what you posted here and go on a mission?

Great answer. I think the logical factual and respectable, free from emotion approach is best. If they don't respond and try to work with you then the worst case scenario is that you have just made a lot of good updates or points to add to your resume. FTW.

If all of these numbers are correct, and I have no reason to doubt you, then you have made your case already.

P.S. while off work I would prepare for another career path.  Night classes, certifications, etc...

They are, no reason to fluff it. My company offers free schooling which is great but if go that route I'm commited to this job while they pay for it. My biggest concern is if how to go about bringing this up (its not like my DM has a office or is in my,store all the time) especially since my review and pay increase is in September

You can't make an appointment with your boss/manager?

Take any and all chances to figure out how to get out of the retail business, if you can.  Wages are pretty stagnant, and I don't see them rising sharply over the next 10 years.
