I was hoping all these freak accidents and stuff would not continue over into this season. The past week we have Martin retiring suddenly, Coach Ron's brother dies, Hill gets busted, now this. I'm not liking this.

look at it this way...we're getting our poo stuff out of the way before training camp

Yeah, after a quiet "no news is good news" and/or "the Panther news (Cam's contract signing) is good news" offseason, this week has been full of the kind of news we don't really want.  So much distraction just on the eve of camp.  Though at least there's NOTHING remotely like last year's Hardy fiasco.  That was the distraction to end all distractions really, especially given the uncertainty of not knowing his status for awhile, thus not being able to effectively build our defense.

You know, I've been thinking about the fact that Braylon (the kid with cancer) will be the honorary coach at Fan Fest, and how Ron's brother just died of pancreatic cancer.  Hopefully those two events combined at the start of this season will help our team to keep a wise perspective on what really matters, and maybe they'll play with a passion to honor those who show daily what real courage and real victory is in the face of trials like cancer.

Still nowhere as weird or shitty as SF's offseason though

lol at the #changingmyunderwearnow.  he has good humor about it.

Charles has a pretty good sense of humor in general.  Dude is pretty funny.  No clue whether its been posted anywhere here before or not, but this interview on HQ is pretty funny:

Great locker room presence.  Just hoping he's got some tread left on those tires.

Following Twitter, just beginning to realize how huge a star Peanut Tillman really is.  #Panthers are #3 trending topic in Chicago, and it's probably because of Tillman.  I think he is a huge PR plus for the Panthers even before he plays a snap!

Got a great chuckle out of this #Pantherscamp tweet I just saw:

    • How about this. We'll revisit this discussion after the Eagles game. Deal? If Bryce lights them up as the current #1 defense I'll happily eat crow and become a believer.
    • I'm no sports psychologist but it does seem like he got through a serious mental block. Someone mentioned above that Thielen alluded to Bryce feeling like he needed to be perfect every play. That feels accurate. Just from watching, it feels like Bryce 1.0 was playing to not mess up (which is the #1 way to make mess up!) instead of just playing the game. Silly as it may seem, watching him dance after running one in yesterday led me to believe Bryce 2.0 is a thing and a legitimate one at that. In the past, it seemed like he felt the need to remain stoic at all times, which is cool if it's your personality but probably is a pretty uncomfortable facade to keep up. Looking back and seeing the way he showed emotion at Bama, that stoic guy isn't him. He's playing the game again, smiling and having fun. Credit to him because having to take a step back like he did could have been a fatal blow for the confidence. I just want to continue to see progress week to week. It won't necessarily be linear but that's OK. He's breaking through blocks and barriers we weren't sure were possible a few weeks ago. Who knows where that trajectory takes him?
    • Stopped reading after the first sentence. I said he did a near 180 from earlier and your first sentence rewrites my words. Grasping at technicalities of general statements.
