Does this defense have the potential to be the best Carolina has ever had?

On another note, I feel bad for the Jags offense already in week 1. They have some talent there, but Bortles will be tested early and often.

Watch Bortles go off for 24-32, 303 yds, 3 td's or some sh*t. Then the media starts articles about how Bortles is better than Cam. Please God do not let this fabulous football season start off like this.

it would be the panthers way.

But I dunno I got a good feeling. We don't feel so lopsided in one area versus another. This is a balanced team.

Bottles isn't the backup so I wouldn't worry about him as much.

I believe we are worse at safety than in 2013 but better at corner. As for the rest of the defense and the experience gained we are better at every other position except for the other end spot. Ealy and alexander are no where near the player hardy is buy they can contribute. And ealy has the potential to be a game changer.

what kind of system does jacksonville run on offense anyway?  seeing as to how they're probably the most ignored team in the league outside of the titans i really have no idea.  if they think they're going to pound it between the tackles and then test us deep then it might be a blowout as that's the kind of offense we're probably best configured to handle.  if they run more west coast concepts then that could be trouble if that early season rivera weirdness makes a return.

One of the best? Sure. Best ever? You're gonna have to pass me several beers.

Seems like people have quickly wiped from their memory banks those 6 blowout losses in 10 games that this Carolina defense allowed at one point last year.

Some of that was attributed to our offensive lack of firepower, and special teams, but we were downright putrid at certain points last year.

We've got the talent in place, and we've added pieces. Time will tell.

Best ever?  That's preseason talk.   We got beat pretty handily defensively last year a few games.   I do believe if we switched Collin Jones for Roman Harper and either Alexander finally steps up or Ealy keeps progressing as he did the end of last year we can definitely have a top 7 defense.
