Let's remember the SuperBowl where Seattle loses

Yes, It's always funny to laugh at our biggest rival especially when they knock us off and then go on to lose the Super Bowl in such dramatic fashion. Let's not forget though, that they too are human and Ricardo Lockette himself penned a very good article recently on the Players' Tribune Website linked here.

http://www.theplayerstribune.com/ricardo-lockette-super-bowl-interception/

I really think that everyone here should read the article, if for nothing else just to get the human side of what most NFL players go through. While I have hated the SeaHawks as much, if not more than most here, I have a newfound respect for them. I do NOT feel sorry for them, I just respect real people who don't frost or sugar coat reality. I can't help but root for Ricardo Lockette in the future (except when he plays us). This is a must read imho. I promise that you won't be disappointed, and if you are, well then, it took you away form pretty rainbows and other useless mumbo jumbo on FB for 5 min.

Some excerpts;

The play always goes to me. I think, Well, damn. Here we go. Let’s win the Super Bowl. I jog to the line and the stadium is deafening. I look across the line. Darrelle Revis follows Doug Baldwin to the other side. We have the matchup we want. Before I have time to think or be nervous, the ball is snapped. I take off. Jermaine Kearse sets the pick in front of me, just like we’ve done it a hundred times. I’m looking at Russ … I’m looking at Russ … I see the ball coming.

I see that ball coming, man. I’ll never stop seeing it.

The next thing I know, I’m on the turf on my knees. I’m looking around like, Okay, it’s incomplete? I look across to the Patriots’ sideline, and I see Tom Brady jumping up and down. And then I look across to our sideline and I see our guys with this blank look, with their heads dropped.

I will never forget that pain. Never.

I hope that you enjoyed reading the article as much as I did. We as fans can only HOPE that more players write articles/essays such as these. As fans, we crave the first hand knowledge and insights of our favorite players. That medium is great, and I hope that we can see some of our own players do stuff like this one day.

In other news we are 4 days 6 hrs and 15 min and 22 seconds away from The Panthers' first training Camp Practice of the 2015 season at Wofford... not that I'm keeping track or anything

our biggest rival? Have they reached that point? I still hate the Saints and Falcons more

They are our version of what the Detroit Pistons were to the Bulls back in the day.

We all know what happened to the "Bad Boy" Pistons don't we?

For the 15 yr olds that have no idea what I'm refering to

Jordan and the Bulls swept them and never relinquished control over the East

Cam and the Panthers will do the same this year

Biggest rival?  Helllll naw.  Temporary roadblock.  In 2012 we were insanely flat because we DID lose to our biggest rival in the GTFO our field game the week before.  At the time we couldn't care less about those guys and truth be told who knew their team of 5th rounders, ped users, failure of a coach, and 3rd round QB would be anything.  Falcons, Saints, Bucs, in that order.  Redskins and Cowboys definitely have a more special place in hell and most would say 49ers too when considering our history with those guys.  They've ascended quickly up the ranks and may have overtaken the Bears of the world, but if they return to mediocrity I think most would prefer they beat the Patriots, Steelers, or hell, even Jaguars, if it didn't effect us.

Edit:  they waxed us in 2005 but so did the Cardinals did in 2008.

For the almost ten years I've been a member here the Pats and Dallas have always been at the top of the most hated teams outside of our division. However I think that a large majority of us, just for one play at the end of the Superbowl, were cheering like crazy for Brady's team. Right now Seattle is really under our skin and it is hard to like anything about them. Even if it means cheering for the Pats.

We're 1-6 against the Seahawks since 2005.  Lol we aren't a rival to them.

If we start winning against them and knock them out the playoffs in the next couple of years, maybe... but right now we're just that team they beat every time they play us.

No kidding. I can guarantee we would get few votes as their biggest rival.
