Thinking about binge watching the first season. Does anyone know if it is even worth watching??

I read the book a few  years ago and watched like three episodes of the first season. The show is really slow but has some cool moments.

The pilot is brilliant. It's all downhill from there. Once they show the Master's face, it derails.

I was into it the first couple of episodes, but dear lord that acting is horrible. Lost interest quick.

It's a love/hate thing with the book. You have to slug through a bunch of pointless stuff just to get a few pages of badass creepy vampire stuff. It was a pretty tough read for me until the vampires started actually waking up and causing havoc. From what I saw the show was pretty much the same.

New season has been pretty good.  First season was a roller coaster and yes the Master was completely stupid.  You just have to take the show for what it is, a fun ride with some action, gross stuff, and vampires.  Luckily Del Toro's imagery makes me worth a watch but there won't be any Emmy nominees on this show.
