it was clear that entire season he wasn't the same.  Tommy John kills QBs careers.  We hung 30 on people with crazy runs.  He probably should of had a couple 4-5 INT games that year.

Ok so your point is that our "game manager" QB would have thrown more interceptions if we ran less and threw more?

Pretty sure that's what happened in the AZ game.  The surgury was definitely not beneficial but the Jake bashing is just stupid.

It wasn't clear!  He had a bad game.  1 bad game.  We had just been destroying people up until that point.  We had a top 10 offense in the league down the stretch.  We were hanging 30+ ppg and it was special.  Nobody expected that Arizona game, no one.

No one EXPECTED that game, but no one was surprised either.  Delhomme had the ability to be freaking awesome or downright awful, we all knew that.  The offense had Steve Smith, Deangelo Williams, Jordan Gross all in their primes.  Defense still had Peppers, Chris Gamble, and Beason all in their primes as well.  That was one of the most complete teams the Panthers ever had.  My point is you just don't give a 34 year old QB coming off the worst game of his life a contract extension...especially when he was still under contract.  

Panthers needed to be looking towards the future right then instead of investing in past success, which is exactly the reason Hurney isn't the GM anymore.

Delhomme was never really a game manager. He had a poor man's Favre approach.

I never said anything about throwing les and running more.  Said he got lucky that year b/c a lot of those games prior to AZ he probably should of ended a few of those with 4-5 INTs.  Defenders just dropped them.  He was just a different guy after Tommy John.  Record helped mask that and helped people ignore it.

and I am not bashing Jake.  He attempted a Tommy John comeback which QBs don't comeback from and his career shouldn't be judged by Hurney's errored ways.

I judge Jake Delhomme from 2003-2007.  He was a fine QB and underrated IMO.

Well thanks, I dont want to get all rashy and irritated but man, Jake and Cam are my QBs and it pisses me off to hear non panther fans talk about them but when its other panther fans the sand just gushes directly into my pink flap crevasse.

I loved pre Tommy John Jake.  Still think Cam needs some the intangibles that dude had to be really great.   Jake had some weird magic too.

Thing I hated about post Tommy John Jake is he never seemed to have that same goofy fire.  Maybe that was just age setting in...
