Lol the huddle says stats don't mean anything when it benefits them but then all of a sudden they're pointed out. RG has some good skills, very accurate passing. He didn't have much help either. Had he not been injured I believe he would actually be one of the best up and coming QBs, o the media and analyst got it right. Griffin is not as bad as some here are making him out to be, but posts like the above aren't any better.

also lol no help he had a 1600 yard rusher as a rookie and played in a system that has produced one season wonders who go on to flop elsewhere like clockwork.  kevin kolb, matt cassell, and matt flynn all did similar stuff in west coast systems and then fell off the face of the earth.

he's a poor comparison for cam and what rivera wants to do in carolina anyway.  take a wild guess as to why the media outlets got off on comparing them.  chud and shula run variants of a coryell  system whereas griffin's rookie season was in a shanahan WCO.

I seem to remember that he was the "humble kid who was a team player and was cool cause he wore SpongeBob square pants socks" coming out of college.  Basically I remember him being built as the anti-Cam.

I've been convinced for a while that all of those people that hyped him up and said he had the "best rookie season ever" were either Redskin homers or very few even watched many of his games as a rookie, and if they did, they just didn't know what was going on.

That dude ran about the simplest offense I've ever seen at the NFL level.  Batman was pretty spot on.  The only time he would ever even attempt to throw it down field was when he would have a wide open man (which happened a bit in that read option based offense with a 1,600 yard rusher), and people would poo their pants "LOOK HOW GOOD HE IS".  Even then he'd constantly miss wide open guys, because he was always looking for that quick slant or dumping it off to Morris.

Cam's rookie season was leagues beyond Griffin's in terms of what he was doing in the offense... and he had far more raw production.  Honestly, Griffin didn't even have 2nd most impressive QB rookie season in his own rookie year.  Both Wilson and Luck were far ahead of him.  Media hype is a bitch though.

RGIII was never a running QB in college. He was a pocket passer with speed and the skins tried to make him into a Cam. This got him hurt then they rushed him back and got him hurt again. This is the skins fault and his career could be done because of it. Hope he survives this season and signs with a  team that will help him.

One of the trends I've noticed in sports media (and fandom) in recent years is an awful lot of "highlight reel" analysis.

A couple of big plays and suddenly a guy is incredible.

A couple of bad plays and wow, he's awful.

Few take the time / make the effort needed to get the full story anymore.

i have a friend who bought three of his jerseys so he could have the home, away, and alternate.  i almost feel bad for the guy.
