This sounds crazy but I'm not so sure I want a bye.

There would be NO way they come out flat after a bye, AT THE VAULT no less, with a chance to have the Champ game here.

Believe me, I want all the games here and get back to the big dance.

Uncle Mo is big this time of year. Ask the Giants and Steelers the last couple of years.

The Panthers are hitting on all cylinders right now.

Look at the rust that developed during the bye in the reg season.

Although they say since they started picking up the pace in practice a sense of urgency has remained.

Flame on...

i agree. i would like to see us win out, and i would love to see us host every game we play in the playoff's, especially given the success we've had this season at home. however, this is a team of momentum and i do not want to see it halted. i look back to how we played after our last week off, and it worries me. oh well, guess it's just something we're gonna have to deal with if it comes to that.

Forget being rusty after a bye week; forget not wanting to beat the Giants now and having to face them again in the playoffs; forget not wanting to play a division opponent in the playoffs; forget what wildcard team you don't want to play.

If the Panthers are a Super Bowl winning team, who and where they play in the playoffs shouldn't matter. Win or lose Sunday, if this team really has what it takes to win a championship, come playoff time they will get it done. I would rather them be good then lucky. Lucky will only get us to another 7-9 season next year.

Three things make me disagree with you:

1. 10-0 at home this year, including the preseason.

2. Rust and Rest are not always one in the same. If these players rest and stay focused as opposed to getting away from their game mentality then it will benefit them greatly.

3. If you can't get up for the playoffs, then you shouldn't win anything. Carolina doesn't strike me as a team that will rust. Their drive doesn't seem to allow for such things.
