Another ESPN QB Ranking

"I like him, and I like the plan of what they are doing," this director said. "They have gotten big targets for him because he has some accuracy issues. That really helps. Eventually in this league, you have to win from the pocket. That to me is what keeps him from ever being a 1."

Outdated thinking right here. Roethlisberger makes his best throws from outside the pocket. Cam has a stronger arm and more mobility than Roethlisberger too.

I don't want him to be a 'young Roethlisberger'.

I don't think Roethlisberger is that good.

you know he threw for just under 5000 yards last year at age 32? with only 9 INTs to go with 32 TDs and a 67% completion percentage

Don't really care about stats.

I see Roethlisberger as a bigger Russell Wilson.

Cam beats a team with his arm = Cam was lucky it wasn't picked and that team isn't a good defense anyway.

Luck beats a team with his arm = Greatest passer of his generation, doesn't matter he threw 5 int's for that 1 TD.

Wilson beats a team with his arm = Was Jesus really God's only son when we clearly see Russell play?

Cam beats a team with his legs = Running shouldn't count as a QB stat, so what, he ran over two LB's.

Luck beats a team with his legs = What a dual threat, he's the best QB evar.

Wilson beats a team with his legs = Best runner since mankind existed.

Cam gets sacked = No sense of the pocket, can't find targets, will never develop as a QB.

Luck gets sacked = Their line sucks, not Luck's fault.

Wilson gets sacked = Their line sucks, not Wilson's fault.

This post will get flamed but damn there is a lot of truth in it.

Too much truth to be ignored actually.

Roethlisberger is closer to a gunslinger like Favre than a game manager like Wilson.

Both make a lot of their plays by chucking the ball downfield on crazy scrambles.

The prime difference: Wilson escapes because he's elusive, Roethlisberger because he's big and tough to bring down.

Roethlisberger is crazy accurate on the run, he doesn't just chuck the ball deep blindly. He's an accurate gunslinger.
