If he was going to be out for any extended period of time dont you think that they would have kept one of the RB's that we already had on the roster, that, you know....already knows the offense? I highly doubt that they would want to roll into the regular season with only 2 RB's ready. So, using that I believe that Stewart will be playing on Sunday, but at the latest Week 2.

Not if you believe there is a younger guy with better upside at the position. Running the football isn't rocket science, find the hole and go through it. Some are better than others. The only learning curve is blitz pickup and we have 3 guys on the roster right now that do that already very well.

Well why would they sign some dude off the street, when Birmingham and Lee both showed flashed of being competent in the preseason? If they were bringing in someone they thought they might have to rely on, dont you think they would have stuck with one of the guys that already knows the organization, system and coaches? This move is very odd though....ill definitely admit that. I just dont think its because Stew is going to be out for any long period of time.

they have had birmingham for too long and lee probably decided he wanted to go play for the team in canada that drafted him.

As others have said in another thread, we brought in Sutton not to replace Stewart but for kickoff returns. He led GreenBay with a 24.4 yard average. He may get work at a running back at some point but we were totally unimpressed with who we have.

for a third overall pick it would be over $200k.
