Seriously...What's the deal?

It's July, right? Yeah, worst month of the year for threads. I know the forum is filled with thousands of similar threads and I feel bad for creating one like this, but I want to see what the forum thinks. Rather you're a fan of my posting or not, most would agree I'm one of the last people to care what the media has to say about our Panthers. Anyone who's a lifelong Panther fan knows it's 21 year tradition to count out the Panthers in some way or another, it would be almost a shock if they didn't. Though, something is different this year and it's reaching levels of absurdity. Last year the Panthers were plagued by injuries. Cam had ankle surgery, broken ribs and nearly lost his life in a car accident that fractured his SPINE. Not to mention we had to play 4th and 5th string RB's on occasion. Despite all of this we still won the division and ousted the Cardinals in the playoffs. (holding them to a record low offensive production I might add)

So, lets fast forward to the draft and free agency. We suffer no losses in free agency and we replenish the squad with a solid draft and smart/cheap signings. Looks like we have an even better roster than the 2013 team that went 12-4, right? Ho ho ho hold the fug on, apparently not. The general consensus is that the Panthers will be a bottom 7-8 team. Cam is garbage and we have no depth or talent... At least that's what every MSM writer has to say about us. Everyone is use to the general hate we get from the media expecting us to finish 8-8 or something awful like that, but this is a NEW level of hate. What's the fuging deal? is it Cam? Can the racist media not handle our sexual man chocolate of a QB?

The hate is so fuging bad that the Falcons had to stand up for us. THE FALCONS BRUH. When your detested division rival has to stand up for you, you know poo is messed up. We won two division titles in a row, cam is healthy. WE IMPROVED. the Falcons slightly improved. Bucs are relying on Jameis Crablegs to succeed and Saints are descending into the garbage can of the NFL. SCP burying his Roaring Riot card at the new Falcons stadium that I might have to go bury a big poo in a writers yard like Adam Schein or Skip Bayless. I love my Panthers, fug you if you don't. I love my Panther fans, fug you if you don't. fug the Saints.

I killed about three beers writing that. Almost time for USA vs Cuba.

fug the Saints.

Simple really, people are lazy.  When its time to do a peice on the panthers, writers just copy and paste what the last dude did.  Then just like anything else readers keep seeing the material and start to believe it.  Vicious cycle my dude.

Just keep drinkin beer and pull for our boys, all we can do.

Another whiny 'the media doesn't love us thread'? If the media did care, would you even notice? No. You're too busy trying to feel special, unique, prove them wrong, like some sort of underdog to wake up and realize it's really not that bad or exclusive. It's annoying and it's not that serious.

Meh, these things usually are a little overblown every year, but I agree it does seem a little different this offseason.  It's almost like we've garnered quite a bit of dislike for making the playoffs and winning a game the way we did.  We were one of the worst teams in the league in the middle of the season, no if's, and's or but's about it.  That type of stuff ruffles fans of other teams feathers.  Not to mention the fact many have had us pegged as 4th or 3rd place in the division the past couple of seasons.

Usually it just seems like simple laziness and lack of knowledge of our team or division... this year it almost seems like a damn near concerted effort to ignore certain circumstances that made things play out the way they did in the first place.

There was a reason we sucked last year... hurt/injured QB all year with collapsing offense around him: entirely new WR corps (led by a double covered rookie with drop and focus problems as the #1) and nearly entirely new offensive line, stretches of games starting 4th, 5th, and 6th string RBs (pretty fuging detrimental for a team built heavily to be run first), for a long while we had easily the worst offensive line in the league, many key pieces/players hampered by injury or out, media controversy surrounding our team causing distractions, shitty stopgap players that were putting in putrid performances before they got cut or benched and replaced by more competent players, etc.  Take your pick.

Just imagine for a moment if Luck played with the injuries Cam endured last season, and the Colts had the 7-8-1 season. The NFL media would tripping all over themselves to constantly remind everyone of Lucks handicaps last year. It is never mentioned when the media critiques Cam and the Panthers.

Im sorta glad everyone is overlooking us rhis season. It'll make it that much more enjoyable to witness the fall out after our boys finish bitch slapping everybody.

The only way it matters what the media thinks is if the opposing players discount us. And I promise you after sweeping Tampa and giving Atlanta and New Orleans butt kickings at the end of the year, they are surly not discounting us. They know we are still the team to beat in the division.

I don't think anyone is considering jumping off a cliff because of this.

It's just fodder for discussion on a discussion forum in this dead time.

if you want to see some real whining, check out the SaintsReport.com and see all the butthurt belly aching over  the USA Today having the audacity to rank Breesus 3rd in their QB rankings.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
