self-representing in court

Lawyer will cost @ $250-$500 - They'll essentially get it put off with improper equipment

Represent yourself and getting the initial charge reduced to improper equipment and the rest of the stuff dismissed will cost @ $15-$225... It'll vary a bit depending on how exactly they handle the charges (outright dismissal or improper equipment with court costs)

I forgot to add to my previous post that if your DA/prosecutor is very very resistant to wanting to work with you, it'll just be better to ask for a continuance and get pay an attorney to get you off the hook.

TBQH, it won't look good with you missing the initial court date, but you did show an effort to make amends by going to the jail, etc.

If I had to guess, you are looking at paying closer to the $225 when all is said and done. It all really depends on who is working the line that day, and how willing they are to work with you.

not sure what attorneys you are using.  I have used attorneys for traffic violations several times and have never paid more than $125 for the attorney.

I'm surprised you didn't call him a moron for over spending and not being as financially savvy as yourself.

I am surprised that you could put 5 words together to make a coherent statement.  Well done.  I guess that remedial online class you are taking actually is making a difference.

Keep up the good work.  Another 6 months of focus.....you might just get that promotion to Wal-Mart greeter you have had your eye on for the past few years.

He was kind of vague on what the initial violation was, and obviously this has turned into more than a traffic violation.
